Hello, You may not be familiar with Brindlewood Bay, but that's just fine - it'll be everyone's first time. Even if you've only played D&D, you'll be in good company and it'll be an easy learn. Brindlewood Bay is a rules-light, roleplay-heavy system inspired by murder mystery television and movies. In it, everyone plays as old ladies in a murder mystery club, trying to unravel the crimes around them while learning about the conspiracy behind it all. Session 0 will be September 19th at noon Central Time. Tone: a game about grannies solving crimes is going to lean silly - and I do not intend to fight that. That being said, expect it to be creepy and suspenseful as well and there is a more serious thread that ties everything together operating within the conspiracy in the background. Me: I've been running and playing in all sorts of RPGs for a long time and although this will be my first time with Brindlewood Bay, I have run many campaigns in adjacent/similar systems. You can read a bit more about me in my bio. If you are interested, reply here or shoot me a PM and we can setup a voice call to see if we gel. Here's a teaser that I wrote up for it: The Creche of Unlimited Time; Assisted Living and Care Facility is a quiet place. Loved ones visit far too rarely, the cafeteria serves Swedish meatballs on Saturday, the Medication-Fairy is always on schedule, and bingo happens at 3pm on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Maria has won 6 of the last 7 games. The Mystery Mavens meet on Tuesdays for movie night (last week was Murder on the Orient Express) and Sundays for book/wine/knit/jigsaw/vision-board club. They are a group of lovely ladies who enjoy their hobbies, complain about not getting visits, and love nothing more than solving mysteries. Dominic, the Creche's resident gossip, came to the Mystery Mavens yesterday to talk about Maria's "lucky” streak. A lot of people have been asking questions and making accusations. Maria insists that she has ‘’a system” but that she refuses to talk about it because it works. Last week alone she won $12! Dominic has asked the Mystery Mavens to investigate. A few residents have taken up a collection of various nicknacks and IOUs if they can prove that Maria has been cheating. Can the Mavens put all those hours watching murder mysteries to work and find out what Maria's ‘’system” is and whether she has been cheating? Or will Maria's winning ways continue until The Creche tears itself apart?
