Add Proficiency Dice for the new D&D 5.5 sheets

Add Proficiency Dice to the D&D 2024 Character Sheet Roll20 should add a Proficiency Dice option to the D&D 2024 character sheet. Proficiency Dice are an established optional rule from the Dungeon Master's Guide, allowing characters to roll a die in place of their normal static Proficiency Bonus. This is not an obscure homebrew mechanic; it is a recognized alternative way to handle proficiency in D&D. More importantly, Roll20 already supported this feature on the previous D&D 5E character sheet. The legacy Roll20 sheet allowed users to choose between By Level, Proficiency Die (DMG), and Custom proficiency calculations. The underlying sheet implementation also contains a dedicated Proficiency Die option. The new D&D 2024 sheet should preserve that functionality. The request could be implemented very simply in the existing Proficiency Bonus settings: Proficiency Bonus By Level — Default Proficiency Die — DMG Custom When Proficiency Die is selected, the sheet would automatically roll the appropriate proficiency die anywhere proficiency is normally applied, including: Ability checks and skills Saving throws Weapon attacks Spell attacks Other proficiency-based rolls This would be especially valuable because Proficiency Bonus is integrated throughout the character sheet. Players should not have to create separate macros or manually alter individual rolls simply because they are using an official optional rule. It would also be consistent with Roll20's stated emphasis on customization in the D&D 2024 character sheet. Roll20 has already invested in extensive modifier and customization functionality; supporting Proficiency Dice would be a natural extension of that system. Most importantly, this would restore functionality that Roll20 already had rather than requiring an entirely new system. The D&D 2024 sheet is intended to be the modern replacement for the older 5e sheet. Players who used Proficiency Dice on the previous sheet should not have to lose that functionality simply because they migrated to the new character sheet. Adding this as a selectable proficiency mode would be relatively unobtrusive, preserve the standard rules as the default, and give DMs and players substantially more flexibility. Please bring Proficiency Dice support to the D&D 2024 character sheet.

it depends entirely on their licensing agreement with WotC on what they can add to their official sheet.

I assumed due to having an agreement with the old sheet and D&D beyond having this feature they would too but that is a fair point. I hope they do or gain it if they don't.

If they do bring it back, I would ask for more granular application. All the above uses is fine at a top level, but you should be able to pick and choose individual uses as well. Why? Having played a campaign to L20,  it was my eternal frustration that (as GM) the players only had to roll slightly above average to make the DC on  saving throws for their spells to go from Very Difficult to Nearly Impossible (Nat 20's only). I liked Proficiency Die for everything else, but not for Spell Save DCs.
