But it's been decades since anyone has stepped through the mists, and hope fades quickly in the growing darkness.  It falls to the people to stand against the encroaching darkness and free the land of Barovia. To become Ba'al Verzi, daggers that will pierce the heart of the devil Strahd. General Info As we move into the Spooky season, I will be running a Curse of Strahd campaign with a bit of a twist. You are not an adventurer drawn into this land of darkness; you are mist born — a Baroivan Commoner, perhaps with special gifts and a touch of magic, or skilled with strength, iron, and steel, or still hearing the whispers of long-forgotten deities to guide your path.    This is not your average CoS campaign, this will be for players looking for a challenge and wanting to build a memorable story. You will start with a homebrew Commoner Class that will grow and become the foundation of your 1st-level Adventurer. You have only heard of life outside the mists, so there are constraints to the classes and subclasses. Magic in Barovia is scarce and feared by the masses. Open use could get you labled as a "witch" and locked up - or worse. Not to mention that the Dark Powers that plague the land twist spells for their own amusement. Then again, no one said life in Barovia was easy. You will play as a Barovian commoner who has banded together with others to take down Strahd. Starting as a level 0 Baroivan Commoner, you will work up to a level-1 Adventurer through a homebrew module, "The Sewer Witch". Session Zero (Character creation | set up Xs and Os | Introduction to the world) is FREE — $10 per session after that. Party size: 3-4 players Sessions are held every Monday starting at 5 p.m. Pacific Standard Time and run for 3 hours.   Character creation and play will be on Roll20; voice & chat will be on Discord. No video. New and veteran players are welcome. This is a friendly space (LBGTQ+, BIPOC, Safety Cards enforced). We are here to play a game and have fun. Your GM While I enjoy the sounds of shiny, clacky math rocks, just like the next gamer, I prefer story-driven games over bogged-down rules-lawyering. With your help, we will weave an adventure where your characters are at the centre. I have run games on Roll20 since 2016, from DnD to Shadowrun, Tales from the Loop to Monster of the Week, and everywhere in between. Sound fun? Want to join? Post questions or comments here, or DM me and I will answer your questions.
