Music folders?

Was curious to know if there was any way to organize music into folders so I could separate atmospheric music from sound effects. Additionally, if there any way to implement control over playback, so you could skip to the part of a sound file you wanted or stop the music, then have it pick up back at the same place when you start it back up instead of starting over?

No folders in Roll20 yet, but they are working on a system ( suggestion ). Not sure if music/sounds will be included. You can choose your sounds from soundcloud and then rename them to create a system of organization. e.g.( ambient_river, ambient_tavern, village_smithy, village_bells, etc.) I don't think you can do anything other than start/stop and loop.

Folders: no. There is a suggestion for that, and folders are part of the next big update (the extent isn't announced yet). In the interim, if you click a track in the jukebox, you can rename it. They are sorted alphabetically. I like to find UTF-8 characters that pictorially represent the category and preface with that. You can also use variable numbers of spaces. Playback navigation: no. I don't think there is a suggestion about that, but there probably should be!
Got it, thanks guys! Any idea when that update is due to come out?

I don't think there is a suggestion about that, but there probably should be! We need some sort of R20 Wiki page with the best UTF-8 characters and some kind of title for what kind of category/word it would represent. It's really such a good idea from the ways I've seen The Aaron explain it before with a screenshot. I mean such a Wiki would be both a short write-up of How To (just what you described already, here & other posts, "copy-paste" the symbol that you like and use it at the start of names, and a screenshot of what that looks like), and then a Table with some of the best ones. Well maybe we don't need this, depending on the extent of the Folders feature that could be coming in the next update, but in the meantime I think it would be great. It's a useful technique anyway, even if there were folders. It's good for shortening names, and making them sort into a certain order you might want.

Probably a good idea. I've been meaning to do some wiki work. :)

I have identified another Suggestion on the Suggestions forum, which is the same idea as your question. You might want to add your comment on this thread & add your +1 vote there. Granted this feature "might" be part of the Folder-related update that is already coming, but it's still good to tally your interest on a Suggestion thread that's directly related. Note this link is a different thread from the more general Folders suggestion that Vince linked in the first reply.
