Basic Story Progression: Assumptions: Gods are real... Magic is real... Monsters are real... These three assumptions are the core of the Fantasy World setting. In the following campaign we will use the Forgotten Realms as the starting point. This means that the campaign will use the Forgotten Realms Pantheon (the Gods). Magic will be considered rare amoungst the general population. In some places mages may be shunned, feared, or sometimes dealt with great prejudice. Monsters can be broken down into two main groups, Monsters and Humanoid intelligent beings like Orcs or Brigands. Creating a Character in this Campaign is done using an Array of the following numbers, 15, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8 (there are no exceptions to this). These are then adjusted racially. House Rules and Variants: You can use the Human Variant (+1 to 2 Abilities and one Feat. The Encumbrance Variant is used. You can carry up to 5 times your Strength Score before it affects your Movement. Short Resting. You can take 2 Short Rests in a 24 hour period, during each one you must Drink 1 Pint of Water and Eat 1 Pound of Food. Long Rest requires 1 Quart of Water and 2 Pounds of Food. Revolving participation: What does this mean? You will have a character it will reside in a special campaign which acts as a holder for PCs and NPCs. This is like a character vault, when you join a game your character will get pulled out of the Vault by the DM and you'll be ready to go. Sessions will consist of Single Session Adventures which will be loosely tied together in an overall Campaign. When will these sessions take place? Good question, I will schedule them as often as I can, sometimes more than one in a week and other times 10 days or more may pass without a session. Do you have a time frame for these sessions? The time will be posted on the Sign up sheets for the various Adventures. This is an Edit 2/10/2015, since we started this we've run over 20 Single session adventures for over 30 different players. How will players know when a session is to take place? In the Character Vault module, I will use the Campaign Forum to Post when an event is too occur and will also post the link. In most instances I will try to have at least 24 hours notice however I could put one up on a whim any time. Geez how many players will there be? That will depend and be governed by the following: Scheduled sessions will be open for the up to first 6 players. If a scheduled session does not have at least 3 players at the starting time (7:00 PM CST) then the session will be cancelled. If a player logs in after 7:00 PM CST and there is still room (less that 6 players) that player May or May Not join the game, it will depend on the situation, i.e. If the late player can be introduced logically. How will players advance? Through XP awarded by the DM at the end of a session. What about loot? All loot which is recovered by the session's party, will be divided up BY THE PARTY at the end of the session. Party must decide who gets what or if the item should be sold. All items can be sold for 1/2 their Book Price at the end of each session, again the players must decide this at the end of the session. In the event the party cannot decide what to do the DM will decide and the players probably won't like the result. Why are you doing this? Another good question. DMs who really care put a lot of work into their games, players sometimes forget this and take a complacent attitude of, "hey I don't really know these people I don't feel like playing tonight screw 'em." This of course is not directed at folks with real issues, we all have real lives, things happen, but it's common courtesy to at least post something of you can't attend a session. I hate to say it but what is a occurring quite a bit here is THE LACK OF COMMON COURTESY! Rant over! Now back to why am I trying to do this, because it hopefully will result in having enough players to run these adventures without No Shows ruining the continuity of the campaign. When do you plan on starting these sessions? Well that depends on if there is any interest. I would like to get a Vault of Characters going and try a few sessions out . Between sessions Players may enter the Adventure's Hall, a tavern atmosphere where you can join other players for a bit of Role Playing. I should also mention I use all of the Roll20 features and the API. ANYONE who thinks they might be interested Please Post Here. Please do not PM me, I will PM back to you.
