Hello, I'm looking for players who are fans of the book series "The Wheel of Time" or those who are looking for a game in a beautiful and rich setting. We will be starting at level 1 and working our way up, I have enough campaign material to last us to the end of the events detailed in the fifth book of the series with the ability to play well beyond that. We will, of course, be playing during the Third Age alongside the events of the series meaning the world will be very much alive as time progresses and the Pattern reveals itself. Maintaining player free will is a definite goal of mine but just as in the series the Pattern will tend to push and pull those it chooses for greatness. Along with being set in an outstanding and evolving world the game also features plenty of unique mechanics. Experience is awarded for completion of objectives rather than just combat thus talking your way through or using other unique ways of solving problems is not only equally rewarded but can also be advantagous as combat can be difficult with no ready healing source to be seen. Characters are low stat at the beginning of the game and enemies encountered at level 1 are just as threatening at level 15. Plus the magic system that is the One Power is very unique with distinct gender differences in its users. Alongside the obvious weave differences there is also the fact that the vast majority of the people in the world (95% of every non-spellcaster) is deathly afraid of the One Power. Couple this alongside the fact that male channelers have to deal with the madness that comes from their corrupted half of the True Source and that the mere mention of a male channeler has resulted in entire towns lynching people results in a very memorable experience. In a world of Trollocs and Myrddraal, a world under the shadow of
the Dark One, a world of fallen empires and empires rising, of clashing
nations and war, of shifting allegiances, uncertain allies and
ever-present intrigue, a world of powerful friends and powerful enemies,
a world where women can be as deadly and dangerous as men, and an
ancient prophecy fortelling the end of the world is playing out before
your very eyes do you have what it takes to stand defiant? Will you roll
over and accept death or will you spit in Sightblinder's eye on the
Last Day? Do you even have a choice? The Wheel weaves as the Wheel wills... will you play a key part in the Pattern?
