Pact Boon... How do I get Pact Boon to register on my character sheet? I can do all the effects but there must be a way to show my Old One gave me a Book

This my first time to this site and Rpg's. I been very much interested in playing a game and also meeting friends as i recently began listening to a podcast called "Critical Hit" and after that I was hooked. I am looking to network and make friends.

Welcome aboard Shawn. Roll20 is a great way to learn a new RPG. If you have never played a particular game before I would suggest finding a game that states that something to the effect " New Player's Welcome ". You can find game listings in the Looking For Group area of the site. I would also HIGHLY recommend reading the roll20 wiki, starting with the Getting Started section. Good luck and have fun.

I am about as new as it gets to this whole thing and this was quite informative. I've been interested for a long while in partaking in such things (Warhammer 40K themed games, especially), but couldn't find the time unfortunately. Now, I think, I can and I am very much looking forward to playing with any of you fellows! :) Since I come straight from PC gaming, where lots of times circumstances and the playerbase are unforgiving, I very much hope that this here is a friendly community.

Welcome Mikhail. Since you are new here and to the hobby, please take the time to watch the videos on the first post. They are wonderfully informative and will show you the basic of roll20 and about the hobby in general also.

Thanks, Pat! I did, you're right. I've looked into the system before I think it's safe to say that I got the gist of the thing on theory. But of course, in practice it's different, so I hope I can get into a game soon. I'd like to ask, though, is it advisable to apply for a few games at a time or would it be better to wait for one, and if that doesn't work out, try the next? Also, should I be accepted into a game, will the GM provide any info that I need? Like time and/or date if not specified, character sheet, other special requirements? Sorry for asking so many probably unnecessary questions.

You are welcomed Mikhail. Every GM is different. I know of players that apply for lots of games then drop the ones they don't like or don't have time to play. Those players cause GM's lots of distress at times. Personal experience pick one or two that you think you would like to play in to start out with then if you have the time pick up another game as you want to. Do not overload yourself or you will regret it (personal experience from years ago). Now about the GM's providing info. Most GM's will provide some type of introduction to the setting, some type of background fluff. Other GM's will point you to the srd's (free rules on a website) or to where you can get rules for the cheap or free legally (Our Code of Conduct rules state no requesting or promotion of pirated material is allowed here on roll20) usually. Time, date, and all the other stuff is usually provided by the GM also. Best recommendation that I can give you is talk to the GM of the game you are interested. Be honest and respectful and they usually return the favor. Do be scared or worried for all of us had to start where you are at in the beginning and a Good GM will remember that. Good luck and be patient. Finding a game online takes work but if you stick with it, you will find some good friends through this hobby.

Hi, I have created a new campaign (still WIP) and make a listing. I was thinking of using the player directory...but there is a lot of names. Is my only option to manually browse the directory ?

A good question Thor, and one I asked in the past. It would be good to able to filter them by the games they were looking for, their timezone, and other elements of their profiles.

At this time the search features you see in the Looking for Group tool are the only ones available. We are actively working to improve this system and have noted your feedback.
