Status Color Key

That status indicators are great, but it would be nice if there was an easy to update key that could be placed on the page. Then all of the players could always know what each color means. I'm thinking that something simple like the turn order box would be wonderful.
Why not just make a Token that is just a Text Box with the Info on it. You could stick it on every page and make sure it's visible problem solved. You could do it in MS Paint.
So I would have to put an image on every page, make 5 text boxes on every page and line them up and re-position them whenever necessary. Unless I'm missing something that doesn't seem quick or simple.
Just open MS Paint or any graphics program. Create a swath of the color you're coding and annotate that color with its meaning. Save it is a *.jpg or *.png file and upload it to roll20. Add that token to every page, and your players will be able to see the key. You don't have to do different tokens for every color. You can have all the colors represented on the same token with their annotation.

Speaking of status indicators. I always wondered for what effects GMs paired with them. If I had an idea I could draw up a mock up to what David is referring.
I tend to just use Blue for Allied NPC, Green for Party Members, Orange for Neutral NPC, and Red for an Enemy. EDIT: Oh, and X for dead.

Using Ian's definitions I made this: I've also included the PSD file link through DropBox where I can automatically provide updates to the file. https://www.dropbox.com/s/c2asa64wigk2in9/roll20-statusIcons.psd
Alicia, could you just post one with the colors and no text? People could then add it as a token and just add text over it in-game.
Can't you just use the handouts system to keep track of it?

Here's just the icons, though I think having the text already on the image is more useful as then you don't have to worry about redoing the text for each map. You could just have a standard icon image. Guess it all depends on if you want the icons to mean something different with each map.
