[Script Request] Macro trigger on playing a card

Nothing too difficult (I hope) but I have been trying to figure out someway to trigger abilities on playing a card. The way I have set up my campaign (homebrew) is that abilities and spells are stored on cards, and when you want to use an ability, you play the card. Currently I am simply pressing the macro button whenever one of my players plays a card, but it would be really nice if this could be automated. I've tried to go through the forums and the wiki and I can't seem to find anything about stuff like this. If there is a solution out there it would be great if someone could steer me towards it. Thanks!
okay, just my luck... the MOMENT I post this, I find a previous thread with the same topic. It can be found here: https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1614699/request-... So, I'm a bit unsure about proper etiquette in this scenario, Is it better to leave the post as a signal boost, or remove it to reduce clutter?

Typically in situations like this it is fine to leave your posts up, especially since you have linked it to the 'solution' I'd leave it as is now. If nothing else it increases the likelihood of someone searching finding a relevant thread and if it's this one, finding the link to a more detailed thread... win win :) Worst case scenario, a mod will close this thread since you've effectively dead-ended it... in a constructive way i might add!
