AD&D 2E Player's Option

I've never run a game using the player's option rules and would like to give it a go. I'm looking to start a game Friday night or Saturday. This would be in a home-brew world with a Norse feel.

Sounds cool. I like your avatar too by the way. I am not going to have that time free to commit for this unfortunately. I wanted to offer that you can post your game pitch on the 2E Tavern (group of 150 enthusiasts of AD&D 2E on Roll20). Some players there might be interested. I'll PM the link to you, or you can find it in the LFG. EDIT: Remembering you're already a member of the 2E Tavern. Feel free to make a thread there announcing your game pitch. It will send a Notification to the members.
Which optional rules? All of them? Some are mutually exclusive, FYI.
Pretty light to start. I will be using subabilities, though I'll be using my own strength table that's eliminated exceptional strength (an 18 is equal to 18.76 strength). Players will choose a race out of the Complete series, and some limited ability swapping will be allowed. Inborn abilities such as infravision cannot be traded out. Classes will be selected out of the PHB, along with some others such as the barbarian classes or even classes from previous editions on a case-by-case basis. A player can then sell abilities off or gain a few points by taking disadvantages (for example, a fighter can sell his armor proficiencies for the points required to buy an increased hit dice). I much prefer the S&P proficiency system so I'll definitely be using that. Bulk points will be used. A lot of the combat & tactics is used, though the heavy tactics rules and wargamish rules will not. Spell points and different casting methods are also used.
I have a feeling you'd enjoy the Fantasycraft system. It does what you're houseruling as a core aspect. Might want to look at it for some ideas.
I'll have to take a look at that some time. I forgot to mention also that this is going to be in Google Hangouts.

Normally not a big fan of the wackier races, but I've always had a soft spot for the giff. They're just all kinds of awesome. Arquebus is a bit out of the tech-zone however.
Anybody who seriously wants into the campaign pm me.
