Ad&D 2E character sheet trashed?

Having put a year into building an encyclopedia of monsters in the 2E sheet, suddenly I found that for some reason the "monster" arrangement has vanished, all of my monsters are missing all of their fields. The frustration of using this app is quickly outweighing the advantages... Back to using a book on the desk and slowing the game down even more than the incredible lag offered by the site. Of course hundreds of hours of work gone.

Al, I'm not seeing any changes to the 2E sheet. Can you provide more detail as to what happened? Also, your set up won't lose data. It will all be stored in the Attributes & Abilities tab. It just needs to be displayed correctly.
Somehow the 2E sheet has been edited. The check box for monster/player no longer works, also the standard/options checkbox is frozen on options. I have since found that indeed the data is still there, in the attributes section, it just no longer displays, so if I want it I can copy it and paste it on to the first page so I can read it. It just means more work to get something I already did... Par for the course.

Al, I can assure you that the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons 2nd Edition sheet has not been changed in 4 months. The sheet is working fine. It sounds like you're having a technical issue on your end. If you make a post in the Technical Issues forum I'd be happy to assist you.
I know how it is supposed to work, I made up all of the sheets. I don't see how it could be on my end. I am just going to say "screwed again" and stop putting my work on this site.
Al -- it might be helpful if you can provide a link to the campaign that is having this issue so we can take a look. I'm also moving this from the Character Sheets section to the Bug Reports since this seems to be a bug rather than an issue with the sheet in general.

I checked my 2E campaign character sheets and they appear to be normal, still filled in. I don't use the Monster tab of the sheet though. With a couple Devs responding on the case, I hope a fix for Al will be found.
Al -- I joined the game, and took a look at a few monsters randomly, and all the ones that I checked seemed fine. Here's an example of what I'm seeing: Let's take a few steps back here, and get a full rundown of what you're seeing on your end so we can better diagnose the problem. Is there a specific Monster it's happening with, or is it all of them? A screenshot of what you're seeing as well as a console log would help me narrow down the problem more quickly. The good news is that this seems to be a one-off bug, your actual campaign data seems fine. Thanks! Riley
It is in all of my campaigns, only displaying as character sheet. monster tab not working at all. I am probably ending my games shortly, so it is not that important to me at this point.
Actually, are you using Firefox by any chance? I just looked and it does seem to be having issues with displaying the sheet (I had checked in Chrome previously). It looks like the data is still there if you scroll down far enough, but that it's not hiding the other part of the sheet it should be when the Monster radio button is checked (so it's some sort of CSS issue). If you are using Firefox and it was working before, my guess (since we haven't changed anything on our end) is that a Firefox update happened and it broke something. Unfortunately we don't have any control over those, it's one of the "bad parts" of being a web-based product. I will keep looking at this and hopefully be able to come up with a fix here shortly.

Okay, I was able to track down the issue. There was a typo in the CSS for the sheet on this line: <a href="https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/" rel="nofollow">https://github.com/Roll20/roll20-character-sheets/</a>... where it was missing a quote ("). For some reason the latest Firefox update started not liking that and it caused it to ignore a lot of the CSS for the sheet and led to the behavior you were seeing. I just pushed out a fix for the CSS and now it seems to be working properly. If you're already in-game you'll need to reload. You mentioned in your original post that you were experiencing some lag while playing as well. You do have a pretty big campaign but it seems to be taking longer than it should to load your game initially. I'll take a look at what we can do to speed things up next week using your campaign as a test case. Hope that helps!
thanks
i use chrome btw.
al e. said: i use chrome btw. Did it still fix the problem?
yes, I had to reopen them and switch it back to "monster" and it worked. thanks again. I have shut down my firewall, adblock and switched to chrome canary and it seemed to help a bit with the lag and it has not locked up in a few sessions. the canary build seems to be faster.
Thanks for the fix, Riley. I use a sheet based off that sheet. I will add the fix into mine. I havent used Roll20 in a couple weeks, so I don't know if it would have been a problem, but why have incomplete code!
