Roll Button Question

Ok when I use the tutorials roll button function it throws out a number. In D&D 3.5's char sheet it also tosses out what check it is. How do I get my roll to announce what my player is doing?

Are you talking about for personal Macros and Abilities? Chances are the character sheet is using an inline roll with text in front of it. Something like: /em does something crazy! Fighting Check: [[1d20]] That would output something like: Vis does something crazy! Fighting Check: 17

On the character sheet it tells you what the check by telling you. You can type: Balance check: [[d20+5]] which will roll the d20, add 5 to it and then post it on a line like: Balance check: 14 (the D&D3.5 sheet looks a little fancier than that because it uses roll templates but the essence of what it is doing is ^. ) If, as a GM, you want to do roll something for your player you can type it in: George's balance: [[d20+5]] you can get a little fancier and use queries: ?{who?|George}'s ?{what?|balance}: [[d20+?{bonus|0}]] which asks you who (for a name) what (for which skill) and for a bonus (for how much to add to the d20). If you get further into making macros there are other ways to get fancier also. Actually I was trying to do something with the roll button in the character sheet. <button type='roll' name='Test' value='6'/> It will display a 6 in the chat log when someone presses it on their character sheet. I understand how to get it to display a variable from somewhere else on the sheet but I don't know how to get it to display "Balance Check: 6" or something. How do I make the roll button include words?

Ah. Put the other stuff in the roll value <button type="roll" name="attr_jumpcheck" title='jumpcheck' value="@{character_name}'s Jump Check: [[1d20 +@{jumpskill}]]"> or <button type="roll" name="attr_jumpcheck" title='jumpcheck' value="@{character_name}'s Jump Check: [[1d20 +5]]"> :) You can put a whole roll template in the value if you want. Hope that helps.
Awesome Diana thanks!
