Whisper to Characters out of game

EDIT: Title: "Whisper to Characters out of game" I'd like to be able to send Whispers to my players that they could then log in at their leisure and receive. For example, I whisper the results of a roll on a rumor table that a player can then log in later and receive.

Gozer, I edited the Title line to what you asked. Regarding the suggestion, can you not do that already? How is this idea different from the whispering that already exists? You can currently log in to your game, write a whisper to someone using /w Gozer the Gonzerian "Hi Gozer this is a secret whisper to you" When that person logs in to the game later, they would be the only one who can see that whisper in yellow-background in the chat. Whispers don't disappear when you log out as far as I know. Documentation: https://wiki.roll20.net/Text_Chat#Whispers If I misunderstood your Suggestion please explain the difference. If this works for what you want, you can recover your +1 vote and hide this thread by deleting your post above.
The idea is slightly different, in that I was wanting to whisper to the character name...but, this works for what I want, so I think I'd like my vote back, please. :)

I just saw the other thread about this (in Specific Use), detailing the problem, https://app.roll20.net/forum/post/1928681/whisper-... I was not aware of that limitation that Whispering to a Character could disappear, but whispering to the Player would remain visible to them in the chat. (?) Like I said, I didn't know that was the case, but according to the other thread, it is. Do you want your Suggestion thread to remain here, for purposes of suggesting Whispers to CHARACTERS should not disappear?
Well, it might be helpful. My players sometimes change their display names, and I'm assuming this would mean that the macros I set up to whisper to them would then not work. However, they don't tend to change their character names. I guess go ahead and leave it.
