Cannot connect to campaign

1431382370

Edited 1431382399
Hello, Tonight I cannot connect to our campaign, it does't even get to the loading screen. We have followed the troubleshooting guide and no luck. Myself (the GM) and 2 of our players cannot connect. However, 2 of our other players were able to connect. Myself and the other two players that were unable to connect were able to connect to a separate campaign. It seems we have a campaign specific error.
Just to specify, we have tried Chrome and Firefox, I have even tried using a mobile device. No luck.

I'm sorry you're having trouble with the site. Since you've followed the trouble shooting guide, can you please follow Step 4 , including providing all of the necessary information, so that we can further assist you. Be sure to copy the text from the log and paste it in a message here. Have you tried other browsers and/or other computers and/or other internet connections? Ok
I am of your party I'm afraid. It seems that it get stuck on the editor on my own campaign and won't allow me to go back without force. I also cannot connect to any other campaigns.

However this appears on my working campaign as well. This is a problem for 3/5 of the players, all using primarily Chrome and have tried Firefox. We are running an assortment of windows 7/8/XP/Android. And to mention again, we can connect to the dummy campaign, just not our actual campaign.
UPDATE: on the dummy campaign, in campaign settings, I applied the Pathfinder character sheets template. That broke the dummy campaign and caused it to do the same thing. I disabled the character sheets and we were able to log in again. I am extremely hesitant try any of this on our actual campaign as I do not want to lose any data.

Can you PM me the link to the test campaign?
Trying to fiddle with it myself, but it seems like it stops loading when the campaign changes the URL to "app.roll20.net/editor/" even when joining another campaign that is not my own. I lose complete control on the site as I click "join campaign" or "launch campaign" where I can't even click other options as it tries to send data to the site. I've tried cache and cookie clearing, though it doesn't seem to have helped either. I've done what Mike has tried with other browsers and firewall checks, but seems like it's something else. Below I have posted a screenshot of my roll20, where it is stuck loading the URL and cannot seem to access anything while in this state.
Same issue here.

No, the character's data is all there. Turning off the sheet won't delete it. It's just not being displayed for you.
How long can we expect until this is solved?

We're working on the issue however we have no ETA at the moment. We'll provide more information as it's available.
Thank you for taking action quickly! :) I'll be refreshing to await for answers.
I can't connect either, but some of my party memebers can.
After some 503 errors, I finally managed to get in!

Trying to find a common thread, are any of you Canadian with a Canadian service provider?
For those of you who were having this issue -- can you try again and see if it's still happening?
I am Canadian! Perhaps it is a Canadian connection.

I am in Canada working with a Canadian ISP, issue is still happening. Though bizarrely when I connect through a Canadian VPN it works.
I have the same issue and I am also Canadian.

I got a couple of 503 errors but seems like it's smoothed out now. Let me try my other campaigns right now. EDIT : So it looks like the problem is still persisting. I cannot access any of my other campaigns so the one I joined was complete luck and I'm not closing it now due to being scared of losing connection to it!

Those 503 Errors were me pushing out the fix, so those shouldn't happen again unless I need to restart the server again.
I just used Hola Unblocker to change my location to the US and it allowed me to enter my Campaigns.

Im canadian using Teksavvy
For those of you still having the issue, can you get me a screenshot of your Network Tools tab? It's in the same place as the Error Console, you just hit the "Network" tab. There should be a bunch of stuff -- see if anything is colored red...
I'm Canadian, but still have issues. ISPs of our group seem to all either be Rogers, or Rogers via a reseller (TekSavvy). We also have one on Shaw.
Still happening on my end at least im in the GTA dunno what to do :(

If anyone can get a screenshot of their Network Tools tab that would be helpful! Coty N. said: Still happening on my end at least im in the GTA dunno what to do :(

Same problem, I am canadian. Took screenshots of the network tab.... This is what it looks like when it is trying to load (nothing changes after 1st second): http://i.imgur.com/2z8OzJj.jpg Then after I tell the page to stop loading after 20 seconds: http://i.imgur.com/v4hS10W.jpg This it the full URL of that never seems to load: https://app.roll20.net/editor/startjs/?timestamp=...
As others have reported, it appears to be Canadian-specific. After using VPNs, our entire group was able to load up the page.
Roll20 is racist to Canadians It's such an unusual problem.
Also canadian, any campaign i create without char sheets works, with char sheets, it just freezes. if i hit stop, it goes to the campaign loading screen, but that's as far as she'll go
So based on the feedback we've gathered from everyone, the problem seems to be that a few ISPs in Canada are currently having issues on their end with passing through our traffic. The /startjs call (which is the call that seems to be hanging) can be a very large request payload size if you are using a large character sheet such as D&D 5E or Pathfinder (which is why some users are seeing success disabling the sheet and loading the game). So it seems like those ISPs are only blocking requests with large payload sizes. My guess is that this is a temporary configuration issue on the ISPs end and that they will resolve it soon. In the meantime, you can use a VPN (including a free one such as Hola http://hola.org/ ) to access the site which will bypass your ISPs request handling and fix the issue. Sorry to anyone who has had a game delayed tonight due to this issue!
Thank you for the information!
ya, thanks Riley
