preserving uploaded map ratio

I have a few hand-drawn maps from old campaigns that I want to upload in to roll20 to use as the map for some pages. one annoying thing i deal with is how the uploaded pictures get forced in to a square shape. how can i preserve the X Y ratio of my images? is there a setting somewhere? I'm extremely new, so sorry if this is an easy question to answer. i have searched the forums but not found a solution yet.

I can't answer about the uploading, but once you have the map on the table you should be able to right-click>Advanced>Set Dimensions to set it back to where it should be.

You can hold the alt key down to ignore the snapping to the grid feature which causes the resizing but the easiest for uploading is to just turn off the grid till you are ready for it. https://wiki.roll20.net/Manipulating_Graphics
Thanks guys! setting dimensions helped me fix all my currently placed maps (they're all on 8.5 by 11, so i just set it to 85 by 110 pixels and went from there). Holding alt is helping me with my new palcements.
