Hey all, I've got a fantasy ruleset and setting called Tegwyn Saga that I've run quite a lot, including a few times on Roll20. Thought I'd throw something together for Monday afternoon! Feel free to ask any questions. I'm blanking on what sort of details people would be interested in right now besides what's below. Listing here: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/25678/tegwyn-s... Description copied from campaign/listing: I've got free time on Monday, May 25, thanks to the
holiday, so I thought I'd run a one-shot of my homebrew fantasy RPG,
Tegwyn Saga!
The game will probably run at least 4 hours, but will
have to end by 6pm Eastern (10pm UTC). Start time could change, but end
time is firm.
The bullet points: New players welcome. I've taught players who've played
no tabletop RPGs ever or who already have. Plus, unless some of my
previous players are available that day, everyone will be new to the
game itself anyway! Fantasy setting, ancient to medieval technology and
feel. Think in the range from Greece, Rome, Persia, and Babylon on
through medieval France or Britain.
You get a picture for your character! It will only be
partially accurate, and you don't keep it afterwards, but still!
This is a system that's been played, evolved, and played
some more for several years. No full rulebook yet, so think of it as in
the beta stage.
Moderate crunch. It's not rules-lite, but you don't need
to know calculus either. I'd say it's more crunchy than Savage Worlds,
maybe a little less so than 3rd or 4th ed D&D, maybe a little more
than The One Ring (but with fewer terms to memorize). There is A Chart
with Numbers On It (don't be afraid!), but most rolls don't need it.
Low to mid power level for this one-shot. Your
characters will be high enough to do some cool stuff and get a feel for
the system, but I don't want them to be so high-level that you have to
read through 50 options every time you do something.
I will be providing several pre-made characters to pick
from, with the option to swap out equipment and a couple other things if
you want. But for the sake of time, I'll be providing defaults.
PG-rated. If your idea of funny is to gross everyone out
with jokes that make people really uncomfortable, this is not the game
for you. In-game, there will probably be violence, but nothing
unnecessarily graphic. If kids join, be considerate and keep your
language PG. :)
