One input, use the input how?

Once a variable is input using the ?{Whatever} command, how then does one refer to that same variable within the macro?  I tried @{Whatever} which would make all kinds of sense, but, it failed.

IIRC - if the {whatever} is a number you can do what you tired and recall it for future math, however if the {whatever}  is a non-number you cannot recall it to 'reprint' itself somewhere later in the macro. See Marc's answer below.
TY, I sure wish text would work, but ___________!  (Get it?)
Whenever you use a Roll Querry   ?{Query Text|Default Value}     You can refer back to that original response by repeating the command exactly as-is. ex:   ?{Name|Bob}'s name is ?{Name|Bob} Technically you don't even need to include the default value and can just use ?{Name} It's very sensitive though; it has to be exact spacing and such
OOOOh!  Thanks!
