Images in handouts

Is there a way to send the players an image via the handouts section? I seem to be unable to find a way to do it.

You should just because to edit a handout and upload an image there, or drag an image from your art library without uploading a new image. See https://wiki.roll20.net/Journal#Editing Once you have an image in your handout, make sure it's visible to your players (also in the editing dialog). You can also hit "Show to Players" to force the handout to open for all players that have permission to view it.
