What : [5e] Lost Mines of Phandelver & Princes of the Apocalypse Where : Discord voice chat, video not required. When : Sundays @ 1PM EST or Wednesdays BEFORE 7PM EST We're an easy-going group looking for a DM who enjoys role play over roll play and doesn't mind a few homebrew elements. Full Listing Info : https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/38115/the-lost-... If you see something you don't like, that's okay! We're a moderately flexible group (work schedules are work schedules, afterall). If you're interested, but have questions, concerns, or requests, let me know. We'll see what we can work out together. Thanks and keep rolling those dice!
Just a heads up, if you are going to get into Princes of the Apocalypse you should be ready for a ton of rollplay . After the initial investigation is done the module turns into one big dungeon crawl. Just letting you know.
Time isnt right for me, but have a bump!
@Dustin Thanks for the heads up! Roll play doesn't bother us too much, but it's nice to come out of the box every once in a while. We'll go back in the box if we have to (and it does sound like we will), but we'll find a way to have fun with it anyhow. @Rj Thanks for the bump! Here's hoping you find a nice group as awesome as you are.

I took a brief look at your LFG posts and would be interested to apply as a DM. Before I do so however I wanted to ask you some questions. (As you did not have a Q&A on LFG). -How flexible are you on the time, does it have to be 1PM EST? Assuming that is the time you put on LFG and assuming roll20 converted it correctly, I could run a LMoP campaign somewhere early-mid next month but only if you start at either 4 or 5 PM EST -How flexible are you on the characters you have listed? How were they created? It seems that all the 4 existing players have characters already rolled up. I am not familiar with dicecloud and the rules you used to create those characters, did you use point buy or roll for stats? (I noticed one character had two 20 scores at level 3, one other had some kind of homebrew weapon?). It would be best for future applications to have more detailed information as to how mechanically your characters were created, specifically which homebrews were applied (A list of homebrew rules or resources would be great, other that what is already being given in links), and whether or not you have to be strictly playing what you already have there. Would you be fine by rerolling new characters under my rules? At the risk of sounding like an asshole I will let you know that from my point of view I would ban half and heavily adjust the other half of the homebrew I saw in the "DM info" thread. Their backstories and what not are fine (Though I only skimmed at them), it's just the game mechanic part of your characters that would bash with my DM views. But yeah, looking forward to hear from you guys.
Hey, there! Just wanted to pop in here and try to answer some of your questions to get a good feel of the situation. -How flexible are you on the time, does it have to be 1PM EST? On Sunday, our heavily preferred day for the campaign, it just needs to occur some time after 1PM EST. 4PM, 5PM, whenever, as long as the campaign doesn't end too late for work the next day (should end before 2 AM). -How flexible are you on the characters you have listed? How were they created? The sheets you see are for a current session in which we have several first-time players. As such, our DM made a house rule for character creation in a way that would not give negative modifiers (which has led to some incredibly powerful individuals, for sure) so that people would have an easier time their first session. The DM also wanted people to enjoy themselves so Homebrew was put onto the table for availability. -Did you use point buy or roll for stats? Rolling for stats was the method used. For the points, we're happy to re-roll our stats in Roll20 where everyone else can see to ensure no one's being dishonest. One of our party members is displeased with the 27 point buy system (we're currently trying to win them over), so for us, stat re-roll is currently the only option. - Would you be fine by rerolling new characters under my rules? If you mean play entirely different characters, that is not something our party wishes to do. If you mean re-roll new stats to (hopefully) balance out and add some realism to the character stats, that is something is willing to do. Some additional comments: - You mentioned that you wanted to ban and adjust some of the homebrew you had seen. We're interested in talking to you about that. If you're more comfortable with text, feel free to outline what it is you do and don't like (preferably in a message to keep the thread clean). Or, if you're a VOIP kind of person, we have a Discord available for discussing things with you. Or, if something I've responded with is a no-go for you, that's fine too. No one here wants you to have a bad time and we completely understand. - You also mentioned that you would be able to start around early-to-mid next month. That is quite farther off for us than we'd like, but hey, if you're the DM we're looking for, we'll work things out somehow. Hope this provides more answers than questions for you and any one else somewhat interested in DMing for this campaign. As always, if anyone has a question, you can message me and we'll try to sort out an answer.
I am familiar with the 5th edition game and would happily dm a game. I have been dming 5th edition for over a year now. and have run the lost mines before. I have yet to play the prince but happy to do it. I am prefectly happy with the fact that you already have your characters lined up. I will be happy to talk to you more and get more details down about the gaming you wish to do. I love when a player roleplays and prefer it no matter if drags the game down. I am happy with the times on sunday around 1est.
