Restoring deleted campaign forum threads

Hello all! My GM recently (& accidentally) deleted our IC/RP campaign forum thread, which understandably bummed us all out. I looked up how to restore deleted threads, and everyone says that the Creator/DM can still see "deleted" threads and restore them. However, my DM is saying that he's unable to view the thread in question at all! Am I missing something? Can someone provide a step-by-step that I can give to my DM? Thanks a bunch!
