Show handout via API

Hello guys, As far as I know from the API documentation, there isn't a way to show a handout via an API command. Am I right? It could be good for automatization. Say, when change to a page auto-show handouts. Creating a macro that plays music (using the API) and show a image.

Correct, the API cannot forcibly open a handout. You can change permission settings to make a handout visible to the players (some or all), and you could put the handout's image and/or text into the chat, but you can't make the handout dialog pop up.
What you could do is send the html link via whisper to players. They'd have to click it though.
