[Looking for group] Superhero game, uncertain about what system.

With all of marvels tv shows coming out one after the other, i've felt more and more i want to play a roleplaying game in such a world so i'm looking for a superhero based game to sink my teeth into and thus a group that would be welcoming towards someone new to the system being played. I've had a brief glance at mutants and masterminds pdf but honestly pushed it aside as character creation overwhelmed me a bit having no experience with the system, i'm not sure if other super hero systems are being played at all on roll20, i'd also be open to the system being anime based. If you want to know anything about me, my bio and info on roll20 should give you a rough idea. i've been roleplaying a variety of systems since my pre-teen years and am 28 years of age by now. I can do voice over skype/teamspeak or google hangouts but have no webcam nor a desire to use one. I prefer voice over text based. My availability would be as follows: (For those living in EST timezones, i believe EST is the same as GMT-5 for reference.) Monday ->Tuesday (10PM->7AM, GMT+1) Tuesday->Wednesday (Vampire game) Wednesday ->Thursday (10PM ->7AM, GMT +1) Thursday ->Friday (Pathfinder game) Friday ->Saturday (11.30PM ->6AM, GMT +1) Saturday ->Sunday (King arthur pendragon game) Sunday ->Monday (10PM->7AM, GMT+1)
I might be interested depending of what system is settled on, and what day/time is decided. As for system suggestion, Icons... it is a rather nice system that is very new player friendly.

Ken H. said: I'm EST too but looks like you are looking for late night or early morning games? Well i'm from GMT+1 so provided i'm doing my conversions right; starting time i could do would be as early as 4pm EST. So for me it would be late evening into the early morning but for those living in EST it would be late afternoon and the evening. Obviously i'm not expecting people to run a game for 9 hours straight but as long as starting and ending times are between those times, i'm fine with it. Keep in mind, i'm looking for a game as a player, not as a dm. I don't see myself running a game with a system i don't feel confident in. The reason i looked at m&m was the rumors i've heard that it had a lot of player agency going on which is something i can appreciate, i'm unfamiliar with ICONS entirely(never even heard of it) so i guess i'll go PDF hunting for it and have a look at that. Thanks for the recommendation guys!

Ok because i've received about 5-6 PM's about this. I am not planning on DM'ing this game, i wouldn't feel comfortable to have my first session be one i'd dm with regards to unfamiliarity and system mastery. Still looking for a group however

I would have an interest in such a game.
I would also have interest in this, been looking for a new supers game in something that isn't M&M since my last one died off. What would be the base concept for the group? Supers working for some Shield like organization?
Depending on the day, I'd be happy to play any of those... Though if I had to pick, either the 4-colors super team or the teen Super heroes sound the most fun.
Ken H. said: Avengers or Fantastic Four. I'm a sucker for these types in addition to loving x-men aswell!
Hmm out of those types I'd have to say street level interests me the most, though I am fine with any of them.
Ken H. said: Been batting a couple concepts back and forth; street level heroes banding together like Netflix is building up to with the Defenders, a teen team like Young Justice or Teen Titans, or have the players get together and come up with their own concept for a standard 4-color supers team like the Justice League, Avengers or Fantastic Four. Sound off if one or the other piques anyone's interest. I'll get a LFG page up in the next day or two and do some formal recruiting. Is this for ICONS? I'm torn about ICONS, though I'm an M&M guy at heart. I can appreciate ICONS' slimmer, streamlined gameplay and FATE mechanics thrown in, but I worry that for a longer running campaign the lighter mechanics might be an issue. What I'm getting at is that M&M has a bunch of mechanics for distinguishing Cyclops and Havoc, Human Torch and Storm, and ICONS doesn't so much. I would really like the opportunity to play a Justice League, etc. type of game one of these days, especially along the lines of the old Timm-verse show. I've never really had the opportunity to play an established or experienced hero. That being said, like Simon, all of these ideas have appeal. My ordering would probably be: Justice League-inspired > Street > Teen Group. I think the Teen Group would require a bit more build-up and structure to make it really come together. That's my $.02. By the by, I'm a 30-something experienced gamer in CST (New Orleans). I think my general gaming approach is collaborative -- I work hard to make characters that fit the campaign, group, tone, etc.

I'd love to get into this. Mostly because I've been craving some M&M action for quite some time now. For those who actually have issues making a character. There are hundreds of builds similar to many iconic superheros out there on the internet (And quite a few anime/video game ones as well) http://www.atomicthinktank.com/viewtopic.php?t=37179 <==== Like all of these. And if that doesn't tickle your fancy. You can always use the Herolab free trial and just write up a character that way. Then copy it onto the sheet on Roll20 In terms of the game itself. I'd be up for most concepts. Although my preference would be one about a younger team of heroes (Or even villains). Mostly because I'm a sucker for shows like Young Justice and stories about striving to surpass your idols.
I would jump on that in a heart beat, Justice League to this day is still one of my favorite superhero shows. That said, any progress on sending out invites or making that LFG you were speaking of?
