Just a heads up so you don't get ideas. This is not going to be something special. I havent even decided what adventure I will run yet. :) I have decided what adventure I will NOT run. Rappan Athuk. Now you may breathe easy. *chuckles* - Gauss
hey do you guys think i should go into profession or spellcraft

Lets keep to the *kiss* principle shall we? Learn how to play a paladin, then try to play a paladin with an eagle. :)
one thing you should know i always breath easy :P i would if i didnt cause i dont know what rappan athuk is XD

Neither, I think you guys are going to suffer horribly if you dont have at least someone with Perception.
eagles are amazing though scouting forever
kk ill get perception
or can i? can you get skills outside your class skills
you can, but you aren't good at them, you don't get the +3 bonus
but none of us have it as a class skill I don't thnk, and I have a penalty from low wisdom, so you should get it
hmmm is perception a druid skill?
hmmm id rather use it for more compat orientation and spend some money for some firewood or something to trigger traps
oh, it is, maybe we can convince him to get it

Of course you can. You just do not get a +3 bonus for them. :) I noticed you changed your ability scores. Str16-2(human) =14 (5pts) Dex15 (7pts) Con12 (2pts) Int12 (2pts) Wis12 (2pts) Cha15 (7pts) Total: 25pts. You are 5pts over. I think we have some confusion on how ability score points are spent. First, you buy the scores. Second, you apply the racial modifier to those scores. This racial modifier is not applied to the points. It is applied to the scores after the points are used to purchase the scores. Third, you cannot go over 20points. - Gauss
-.- seriously i keep going over?

Over, under, all around. :) Lets do this. Why dont you walk me through the scores you would like and I will make suggestions.
try using a point buy calculator if you are having trouble with it, <a href="http://tools.digitalightbulb.com/pbcalc.html" rel="nofollow">http://tools.digitalightbulb.com/pbcalc.html</a> just remember to use pathfinder point buy

Well there you go! :) I strongly suggest buying a decent Str and Con. Charisma is a good third stat. Dex over 12 is ultimately a waste. Int is 5th, Wisdom is dead last for Paladins.

One note: I really need to know how many sessions to plan for. This will determine what I run. So far you guys have discussed the 26th. I need to know what other days you are considering. - Gauss
I think we were thinking the 27th if it would be possible instead of the 26th, a slight reading error of your schedule on my part, after that I couldn't be sure exactly. I would be up for as many as everyone else wanted to run.
im ok any day also do you know how much money i have left i wanna get holy water for possible quests like rooting out evil people in a banquet

Flame: Str14 (5pts) Dex15-2(human) = 13 (3pts) Con12 (2pts) Int12 (2pts) Wis12 (2pts) Cha15 (7pts) Total: 21pts. I suggest the following scores: Str16 (14+2human) Dex13 Con14 Int12 Wis10 Cha14 This is 20pts. This also makes the best use of your scores for a paladin. - Gauss
you can bless water yourself if you want, it is a first level paladin spell
i cant use 1st lvl spellls till lvl 5 check palidan spell chart

mgdielman, my schedule did not cover days I was available. It covered the days I was NOT available. Due to gaming I am not available today (LOL, we see how well that went!). I am available every day until the 1st. After that I am unavailable the 1st, 2nd, 7th, and 9th. After the 10th my schedule picks up considerably and any further gaming with this group would be to wrap things up. (I have 4 sessions a week already.) - Gauss
<a href="http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=488436" rel="nofollow">http://www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=488436</a>
4th level, you have bonus spells from your casting skill, but still, it is specialized enough we can probably buy it in town somewhere if we have heavy undead encounters until around 4th level. And that was the misunderstanding I had at first Gauss, I had been thinking it was availability. Would you be free on the 27th instead of the 26th? I had been thinking you were unavailable on the 26th so I neglected to mention I would be out of town.
its ok i respect that you took the time to get 3 newbies to the game some knowledge of how to play even more respect considering your busy schedule
hmmm then i guess ill go for a smoke stick quick escapes always help against hordes of zombies

I typically GM twice a week and play twice a week. Half of each is RL games and the other half is here on Roll20.

I still havent looked the Magus over. Debating on if I want to ask you to go back to the drawing board and make a baseline Magus. I never got around to listing the classes I want to deal with (figured as newbies most of you would grab CRB classes).
smoke sticks >:D lol when one of our friends showed us this we did a extremely modified version and simplified version in other words we get stuffed in a dungeon and lose all our gear from the start
crb class?
The character I have is closer to baseline than it seems, the bladebound has no effect until third level, it is just in case I continue on in another campaign with the same character, and kensai was really just because I liked the idea of intelligence to ac better than wearing armor.
da f is a crb class?

The Pathfinder rulebooks: Core Rulebook = CRB Advanced Players Guide = APG Ultimate Magic = UM Ultimate Combat = UC Advance Race Guide = ARG Ultimate Equipment = UE That covers the main books. There are smaller books that have various things in them. I use them all for the most part. But I wanted this to be kept simple. :)

Just about the only class I ever ban outright is the Gunslinger. UGH! I hate the mechanics of it. The other main class I wind up having problems with is the Summoner. But that is usually due to the cheese factor of Synthesists and Master Summoners (archetype variations of the Summoner).
I haven't looked too deeply into summoner, but I did not like the feel of the gunslinger much either, I thought it might be close to artificer from 3.5, could I have been more wrong?
whats wrong with gunslinger im guessing hes a magor firearm user making him realy overpowered
lol mgdielman you dont sound like a newbie at all

Flame: You have the base class in pathfinder. These are things like Paladin, Cleric, Fighter, Wizard, Sorcerer etc etc. Then you have Archetypes. This changes some features of the base class. Example: The Weapon Master is an archetype of the fighter class. It replaces some abilities (such as armor training) with other abilities. Then there are Prestige Classes. These are classes you can work your way into. Pathfinder has really toned down Prestige Classes from the 3.0/3.5 days. Thank god! The cheese was horribly rank.
also can you tell me the things you recommend for tailspin i have him on skype so i can send it to him and yes i actualy said the right name this time

mgdielman isnt a newbie, he is an experienced 3.5 player. He will be able to use Pathfinder without too much difficulty. They are basically the same. BUT there are subtle differences that will trip him up over time.
ik about prestige but not about archetypes
I am new to pathfinder, but as I said I played a bit of 3.5 first, and have a mind for game mechanics, namely a policy of making damage output spreadsheets.
