It can be useful for a roll button that sits inside a repeating section to be able to output the id of the repeating row - in particular this would enable a whole bunch of useful possibilities with scripts that listened for character sheet rolls and took action based on them. It is possible to work round this by using sheet workers to add an extra attribute to each row containing the id, but that's a lot of extra weight to add to a sheet for something that should already be available somewhere...
