Swords and magic is planned to be a long term, story based game with lots of role-play inside and out combat. A low magic game and by that i don't mean that magic doesn't exist, i mean that most people go about their lives without ever seeing anything strange. Magic is seen as dangerous and anyone who is daring enough to practice it must be nuts, tho that doesn't mean that there are no magic schools and those who practice it. Most people are however born without such gifts or any extraordinary powers. This game focuses on realism. War, faith and social norms. If you meet the king you will not be welcomed with "Oh i'm the main hero screw you" attitude. This game will be focusing on the "Main quest" but sidequests and exploration will also be a big part of it (just warning people that this i not "chose your own adventure" game and some railroading is to be expected). Char creation: Each player will have a starting "Profession" to chose from which will determine your class, level, starting gold and social status as well as different introduction and part in the story. From Knight to a peasant, you can chose your origins (that does not mean your backstory however, simply how you are introduced and your standing in the world). Once a "profession" is picked it's taken, so others have to chose from a different one (peasant is the only one that can have multiple PCs). Everyone starts with 15pt buy, but there are some homebrew rules for when you level up. You get "Exp. points" that you can allocate into ability scores (more in detail for people who are interested), so you could potentially become very powerful, or put points in abilities you find lacking. Combat will have some homebrew rules mixed into it to make it more realistic. For example weapons have different reach, different body parts have different AC and they can be damaged without you dying. In most cases things die from bleeding out instead of "I dealt 8+3 dmg i win" Me. I've been GMing for a while now, still don't know 100% of the rules but generaly go with "rule of cool" if it fits the situation. Down to earth, love role-play and dear i say am pretty good at improv (just not names :D). So i never run out of stories/events. I listen to players, am not afraid to put my foot down, but generally I'm here to simply have fun and RP. Rules are guidelines anyways... So if this game seems like something that might interest you let me know and we'll start from there. Before the game even begins I'd like to 1 on 1 RP with folks as it is needed for the story (and for fun ;)) Looking for serious, committed players. I don't mind people playing a bard who gets into trouble and is generally a funny comedic character, i just hate when people play joke characters. Newbies, old timers, "pros".. all welcomed as long as you're not a minmaxing, rulejockey jerk. I live in UK. GMT - 0 timezone (Europe). Game is planned to start 7pm my time and go on for 4-5 hours (Tho things might change)
