Newbie questions

Hi, my brother told me about this site recently as I've always wanted to play one of these kinds of games, and later on today I'm doing my first game like this, Call of Cthulhu, not on the site but with some friends, and I was wondering what I should do to start getting into the site and possible groups I could join that could put up with someone learning how to play these kinds of games, I don't have a microphone right now but could get one in the future if that's required. Also sorry if this should go in general on-topic, I wasn't sure which one was more appropriate for these questions :S
