World of Darkness: Mortals

I've been looking to try out World of Darkness for a while after watching games played on YouTube for a while and reading several of the game books. I feel the best place to start for me might actually be a mortals campaign, in other words taking place in the WoD but all PC's are mortals encountering the supernatural. Anyone know of any games going on like this i might be able to join?

Huh. I was unaware that there were any decent World Of Dorkness games to just watch. Most that I have seen have just been D. As Well As D. I should check those out. Anyways, no, I am not aware of any Mortals games being run, at the moment. Were you looking for first or second edition stuff? Either way, I could be persuaded to look into running a game of Hunter The Reckoning, but not just Mortals, bleh. Mayhaps a thing where you start as mortals and stay that way, for a while, then you later become Hunters or Werewolves. Or other werethings. Or just a game about Werewolf Kinfolk? If you are interested in the second d edition, though, I could do the same thing, but with Changelings. Many options, but most of them only involve a touch of mortality, whoops.
Pretty much what I was thinking. I mean, it's practically impossible to know about all the supernatural stuff as a mortal and not get involved somehow. Mostly i'm interested in an organic story line of people struggling against the odds in a world full of darkness looking for a ray of light. What can I say, I'm a romantic.
You have my sympathy. Now that I am thinking about it, I could mayhaps think something up, for just mortals. Or a mixture of things. But we'll see. Maybe there is some game already going that could work, for you. Either way, what edition are you more of a fan of? Also, what availabilities are open, for you?

I've mostly read up on 2nd edition. And Wednesdays are my best days.
Aw, boo. First edition has more lore to work with, and more fun, I think. But I could think stuff up, for either. Or provide information. Either way, I am more available, on Saturdays, or any other day, after ten p.m., EDT. Totally willing to just play some Mortal, if someone else would be running it, too.
Howdy. Would either of you be interested in a 2nd Edition Changeling game on Fridays? My campaign has the "outnumbered and outgunned" mood you're looking for and the players are playing changelings who just escaped from Faerie. They're still clinging to their humanity and the isolationist community of the changelings don't know too much about the other supernaturals. It's one of the games I've prepared the most (made a 14 pages long illustrated storybook for this story XD) so if you're interested, here's the player listing: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/37866/changelin...
Well, dang. Sounds decent, but Friday would be my worst day, for joining anything. But I shall hope that you can somehow manage to have fun, without me.
Well, I don't know if we'll manage without you. :(
I have always believed in you.
If you'd be interested I'm trying for a hunter the vigil one shot tomorrow at 12pm EST March 26.

I'd be interested if I didn't work the weekend overnight shift. Sorry, but I'll be asleep around noon. :( Also Fridays aren't great for me either, mostly because of the above reason. Being asleep in the middle of some days is frustrating for any social life. Right now Wednesdays are my only real option. That or Friday, Saturday, or Sunday after 7pm. Sorry. :(
Those are reasonable times mate, Im trying to put together a group for a hunter campaign. Would you like to exchange skype info so I can try and gather those who might want to play in a long term campaign?
Well now, it is rare to see interest in Mortals or even just Hunters, you're not the only one though, I've been looking to get into a World of Darkness game myself, centring either around mortals or a small local cell of hunters, preferably in the latter case, more something along the lines of a local vigilante or even neighbourhood watch kind of organisation which gets drawn into a larger world of which they had pretty much no knowledge, arguably this would be better for a Call of Cthulhu game but it's rare to see a game set outside of the 1920's. Also a lot of games rely on you not engaging in your monstrous nature which I would just suck at. In either case, I'm new to the World of Darkness myself but keen to learn more about it, there are so many fun and interesting games but I would like to start off in the shallow (yet surprisingly easy to die in) end of the pool. Also if I may, I'd like 2nd edition more than 1st ed., the 1st ed. metaplot was fun, I especially love the lore for vampires but I do have to admit, the God-Machine, the Changelings and the considerably (as I understand it) less powerful hunters are all a draw for me, among many other things.
Hey Callum. Would a changeling game on Fridays interest you?
Simon I. said: Hey Callum. Would a changeling game on Fridays interest you? Well I was looking for a mortals or hunter game for a reason, I'm very, very, new to World of Darkness, never actually played a game before, though I know a bit of lore and have read the stories (and of course I've played the old Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines game though that's not a whole lot of use for the tabletop game, even less for the new world!) and starting as a human would help a whole lot I think, plus I do have kind of a softness for discovering horror in the game and so on. But I'll take a look, it'll depend on the time and all but otherwise it sounds fun, Changeling: The Lost is one of the games I've wanted to try!
Hello Callum If you're interested in changeling, here is the link to the Changeling game listing: https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/37866/changeling-naughty-night-deadly-dreams
