New to the genre, an suggestions

Hey, My name is Daniel. I have just joined Role20 and the Table top RPG genre on the whole, I have seen the Yogsquest YouTube series but I am definitely unexperienced, Before I get into making a game board, I need help choosing a game to start with. Any suggestions? Looking for a game which is easy to pick up, preferably Rules Light Preferable genre: Modern fantasy, fantasy, si-fi Thanks Daniel
Hey, Daniel M. , welcome to Roll20! If you haven't already, I highly recommend checking out the first post in our  New to Roll20 or RPGs thread. Also, the  The Orr Group Industry Report gives a great feel for what games are most popular on Roll20, and which games may take more time and effort to pull together a group for.
I can't speak to their popularity here (so I've no idea how hard it would be to cobble together a group for), but Dungeon World (and other Powered By The Apocalypse games) and Fate are both very rules lite, and will handle the types of games you mentioned. I don't know a lot about Fate, but if you have specific questions about Dungeon World feel free to ask and I'll answer or point you toward the answers to the best of my ability, though to start off with you could check out the Dungeon World SRD. The default setting is typical dungeons and dragons/tolkien style fantasy, but the system is simple enough that it's not hard at all to mod it to fit modern and sci fi, and I'm sure there's existing work out there if you google it hard enough.

Just remember that game system discussion is consider off topic unless it is directly related to roll20 as per the Code of Conduct. Pm's between people is usually recommended if it is a discussion between a few people. There are a few large groups (you would have to use the  LFG search tool ) that are dedicated to discussing various systems also. From the Roll20 Community Code of Conduct : The Roll20 Forums exist to discuss topics directly related to the use of the Roll20 program. Anything that more fittingly could be discussed on another website SHOULD be discussed there. Here is a sampling of some good places to discuss this topic: /r/rpg /r/dnd /r/dndnext /r/ADND /r/Pathfinder_RPG /r/savageworlds /r/shadowrun /r/swrpg /r/40krpg /r/warhammerfantasyrpg /r/WhiteWolfRPG /r/LFG
