Secret message hiding

April 17 (9 years ago)
This was brought to my attention by one of my players. If I engage in a secret conversation in whispers with one of my players, all the other players see that I am typing, then they can see who will respond to my messages to find out who I'm talking to. Would it be possible to the "is typing" messages if the first 2 characters in the text box are "/w"

Jake, I believe the feature you mentioned is already in place. That is a long-standing feature of /w whispers. In my games people do not see "...is typing" when you are typing a whisper. Have you experienced people seeing "is typing" when you started the message with /w ?

One of my players told me that they can see when I am typing a whisper, and infer who I messaged based on who is typing after.

Hi Jake. I double-checked and Pat S also tested it today to be sure. We do not see someone else typing when they begin their chat message with /w for the whisper command.

Would you like your thread moved to the Bug Reports & Technical Issues forum to do troubleshooting?

I've fixed the problem mostly so there is nothing to worry about. It's not happening any more for what ever reason.
