I feel like this should be easy and I am just dumb.

I want what I feel should be super easy. I want a way to talk as a character without that character having a sheet. For example: !gmSpeak "Susan Markle" "Hello, World!" would produce Susan Markle: Hello, World! In the chat. I would love for this since I have a very roleplay heavy group and having to find a name quickly in the tiny drop down is terrible. My question is I don't know how to read the chat box. I know how to figure out if something has been said but not how to take the name and HelloWorld part out and format it to send back.
This post title is a good summary for my life. Sadly I have no answer to your question.

Also, this will simply add the name posted as the name speaking, it will NOT add the picture to the char, though it is very doable. Maybe when I have time.

/as "Susan Markle" Hello, World! No API scripting needed. @Emile: sendChat doesn't currently display a character's avatar even if the character does have a character sheet and you format the first parameter correctly. It does work for players, but not characters.
