(LFG) Numenera, anybody?

So I just heard of Numenera last week, and I got curious enough to pick up the core book. And yeah, it looks pretty awesome, so now I kinda need to try it out. I've never played before, though, so I thought I'd see if there are any newb-friendly games going on out there...
I would be super interested as well, as I've been greatly wanting to play it. It would totally depend on when we played though.
1-2 friends of mine I game with regularly and myself are also desperately seeking an online Numenera campaign (not pbp) hopefully using voice chat as well. I'd love to play through all the official adventures for the game and then branch off into a lot of custom stuff. Anyone looking to run this and need some players?

I'd love to give Numenera and Roll20 a go- I've got both the Corebook and Player's Guide from supporting the Torment Kickstarter, and I really dig the setting. To be perfectly honest, I'd prefer playing to GMing. While I know the rules fairly well, I think that I'd need to get some practice in before I actually tried running a game. That, and whenever I manage to convince anyone to PnP with me, I end up running the sessions because apparently I'm the only one with enough patience. (Which is a poor reason, and I'd like to take a break from it anyways.) I'm more interested in character development and story than mechanical benefits, so you won't get much min-maxing from me. I'm in CET, but I can be fairly flexible when it comes to scheduling. Having said that, there don't seem to be all that many people willing to GM, so that's a bit of a bummer.
PST, here. And yeah, I've never GMed anything before either, but I'd be interested in trying with Numenera. I'm in the same boat as Michal, though; I think I need to play some first, just to be sure I've got the game down. That's kind of how I learn stuff--reading the book is a good start, but I have to actually do something in order to really get it.
I just got the books a couple of days ago, myself. I love the setting, and I've been tumbling around character ideas quite a bit. Sadly I'm not confident enough to be the GM either...I guess we'll have to solve that problem at some point.  Other notes for reference: I don't use a microphone, EST timezone, and prefer Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday evenings.
Oh, I should add that any day other than thursday or friday works well for me. PST timezone, Weekends would work best for me but depending on thetime available weekdays are okay.
Oh, right, I forgot to mention times. Well, weekends are best for me. Weekdays (with the exception of Friday) are trickier, though, partly because of my work schedule and partly because I'm PST.
Hopefully we find someone to gm for this. There has to be someone out there who has been wanting to!
Okay, so after some re-thinking about my schedule I think I might be able to work something out on Sunday afternoons. I can't promise anything until tomorrow once I've had some time to scope out a location to stash myself for a few hours, but if it all works out I'll be able to GM (with a microphone and everything!).  Again, I won't make any promises just yet. I need to see if the space will be conducive (and reasonably quiet) first, but I would be MORE than willing to GM weekly on Sundays at around 2:00 EST. 2:00 EST = 7:00 P.M. for anyone on solid GMT, 12:00 P.M. for CST and 11:00 A.M. for those on PST. I don't mind shifting it back to one hour later, but that's the best I'll probably be able to manage.  Now, assuming that the space I'll be in does end up working and that we're able to go with a weekly Sunday afternoon schedule, you guys need to know that while my Sundays are generally free, there are three Sundays over the next two and a half months that I won't be available:  October 6, October 27, and November 27 Otherwise...it could be clear sailing. Anyways: more to come after I scope out my prospective space tomorrow.
I would love to play this game as well, if you have room.

That's awesome, Brandon! Hopefully that space works out well. Also, that time sounder perfectly for a sunday. Sundays are super boring and I never do anything on them anyway.
If it's 11 AM PST, I think I can join in. How many hours per session were you thinking?

Wow, so Numenera GMs do exist? For awhile I thought they fell into the same category as wild snipes and unicorns. Brandon: respect. In any case, the scheduling suits me just fine, and I'm still happy to join if you'd have me.

Hey guys, sorry for the wait.  Everything looks solid on my end; we should be able to get things going this coming Sunday at 2:00 P.M. EST. I'm thinking for the first session we'll spend some time on character creation and making sure you guys have characters that make sense (and that you enjoy!). After that we'll start working through some campaigns in the corebook. My main concern with character creation is that you guys make characters you can personally connect with and invest in. Make no mistake, there'll be plenty of chances for awesome loot and kick-ass combat even in the more original stories we create together. But I strongly believe that what makes a story great is the impact it leaves on you as a person when it's all over. Having said that, I'm still learning, and this will be my first time GMing anything , so I hope you'll be patient with me as we all grow together through this.  Please don't feel any pressure to come up with a completed character before the first session; I'd really like us to work together on building your characters anyways. But if you already have something written up that's fine too. ^_^ With that in mind, come to the campaign (which I will be setting up and sending you guys invites to within 24 hours) with one or more sentences on the following as a basic concept idea:  What does this character want? Think not only of long-term goals, but try to get at the core of what drives your character to the life of adventure beyond the day-to-day earning of coin. Feel free to utilize the book's suggested background ideas for each character type (Glaive, Nano & Jack on pages 28, 36 & 43) as a source of inspiration for this drive/goal. You don't have to roll for their background unless you want to, though a totally original idea of your own is fine too. Anyways, I have a lot of reading yet to do. Feel free to reply here with questions and stuff if need be.
Is there still any room for this. I have been wanting to play since the core came out.
Did you get a full group here brandon? I am also looking to play numenera, but just found this thread.
My apologies, but yes we're full right now. I've got 5 players solid, plus an extra 1-2 others, so yeah. Send me a PM though so that I can keep you in mind in case something opens up.
