Looking for a player, Tues/Thurs nights 7pm EST to midnight, DnD 5e

I have a group, we were playing Stars without number and it sorta fell flat when a person quit and one of the remaining 3 is pretty quiet. It makes for a small small game, im looking for somone to take an active role in the group. We are reforming the group and rolling chars at the next session, and likely using the Prince of the Apocolypse book, but possibly not. Still a little up in the air. Game nights are Tues or Thurs, switching based on work schedules, sometimes theres 2 in a week other times we miss a week. pm me if your interested at all. 5e seems easier to find players for than swn
If you are looking for players for a 5e game (only because I know the system and have all the books) never played SWN. I would be interested but I would only be able to do Thursday nights work will not allow for Tuesdays
bumping this to the top, the players i had have basically quit. So now i have 2 people total, looking for 2 more, likely going to play princes of the apocolypse, so itd be nice if you have not done that module, if you have thats fine, i have an alternate i can do. current party is 2 wizards. One wants to focus on necromancy, the other on either conjuration or transmutation. My style of game is low fantasy high magic, meaning im not interested in a party that is composed of a Free Spirit Undead, a Pixie, a Stone Giant, and a undead necromancer. There are many reasons and i dont feel like going into them, but that kind of party is just hard to dm for. At the same time, the world can still be high magic, with lots of magical and other fantasy things, just not as player characters. I am also loose on the rules, i dont like being bogged down into rule-debates and if something makes sense then it can happen. A simple example is flanking. DnD 5e says the player needs to use the "Help" action to grant advantage to another player on a task, like attacking. This makes sense alot of the time. Like if one person is trying to rig up a climbing system of ropes and pintons to scale a mountain face. When it does NOT make sense is fighting, one player forgos his attack to grant advantage to another for attacking? Screw that, ive been in fights, when 2 madmen come charging at you with swords your kinda fucked, both can get advantage just for attacking somone who is distracted. Help action be damned. If you feel you can come to Tuesday night games, have fun in a more tradiitional party, and are ok with a more rules light/looser interpretation of the rules, then youll work out fine here.
and i apologize to you kyle, the other 2 i currently have i think tues works better for them. ill talk to them today to see if thurs works better for them, if it does your welcome to join.
I'd like to join, 2 questions though, is it going to be homebrew at some point or all modules, and how many sessions would the game run for? As in. Is it more long form or just enough sessions to do this mod and one more, for example?
In my ideal world the group becomes actual friends with each other and we continue past this adventure/module/campaign and proceed to play for.... years? The longest group i ran went for a year and a half with a dozen campaigns of varying levels, the highest being lvl 17. It would be very homebrew because i am a fan of player choice and sandboxing, so if some hook or area sounds interesting you can just go there and fuck the original adventure, useage of modules is partially to populate the world. With dnd, i tend to pick 1-3 modules and 1-3 homebrew adventures and put all 6 into the game at the same time, so you can go to Cormyr and stop the army that has risen there, you can go to icewind dale to help an NPC who is hiring an expedition team, you can go to Turmish and visit the dwarves and fight in their underground invason of the underdark, and so on. Whatever the group hooks into is the line i end up following, putting in as many hooks as i can to offer as much choice and life to the world as i can. Sorta a toss up, right now i have 1 idea for a new homebrew adventure and the dozen or so homebrews with my original group. Princes of Apoc has alot of good material to use as well.
Thursdays are looking more easily doable than Tuesdays based on messages im reciving, still looking for 3 more people. The ones who PMed me first have backed out.
sent you a PM
still need one more person, currently the party is a rogue wood elf, a gnome cleric or paladin, and a human necromancer who wants to focus deeply into that school. adventure is a low fantasy high magic setting populated with both princes of the apocolypse material, and a bunch of homebrew stuff, giving a dozen hooks for the party to focus on and decide what they want to do. xp is milestone/session based.
So it looks like you've started to lean more towards the Thursday session? If it ends up being Tuesday I would love to join in, but if not good luck filling out the group.
