bumping this to the top, the players i had have basically quit. So now i have 2 people total, looking for 2 more, likely going to play princes of the apocolypse, so itd be nice if you have not done that module, if you have thats fine, i have an alternate i can do. current party is 2 wizards. One wants to focus on necromancy, the other on either conjuration or transmutation. My style of game is low fantasy high magic, meaning im not interested in a party that is composed of a Free Spirit Undead, a Pixie, a Stone Giant, and a undead necromancer. There are many reasons and i dont feel like going into them, but that kind of party is just hard to dm for. At the same time, the world can still be high magic, with lots of magical and other fantasy things, just not as player characters. I am also loose on the rules, i dont like being bogged down into rule-debates and if something makes sense then it can happen. A simple example is flanking. DnD 5e says the player needs to use the "Help" action to grant advantage to another player on a task, like attacking. This makes sense alot of the time. Like if one person is trying to rig up a climbing system of ropes and pintons to scale a mountain face. When it does NOT make sense is fighting, one player forgos his attack to grant advantage to another for attacking? Screw that, ive been in fights, when 2 madmen come charging at you with swords your kinda fucked, both can get advantage just for attacking somone who is distracted. Help action be damned. If you feel you can come to Tuesday night games, have fun in a more tradiitional party, and are ok with a more rules light/looser interpretation of the rules, then youll work out fine here.
