[LFG] Anima: Beyond Fantasy! Anyone play?

Just like the title says! I just got started up on Roll20 and noticed Anima is one of the options for game systems! I love Anima! Some years back, I GMed Anima for some friends and we played the hell out of it. Now that the group has been scattered to the far winds due to work (and one guy's craaazy wife), I've been missing it. So is there anyone who would like to play? And potentially anyone who would like to GM? (I'm currently GMing another game and would PREFER to be a player, but maybe something could be worked out depending on the level of interest.)

Unfortunately, it'll be hard to find a DM for Anima because it's nichey AND it's complicated. And since I've never actually played Anima before, I wouldn't make a good DM, even though I'm interested in at least trying it out.

I read about Anima a while back. Never played it, but I'd be interested in trying it out if a group comes together. (I'm also keeping an eye out for an Exalted 3e game, FYI.) ;-)

Oh cool! Exalted is another one I should probably play. I've been interested in it for the longest time but never played. But back to the topic: Yeah, I'd be happy to teach you both how to play if you do have interest! The real trick to Anima is that it's actually not nearly as complicated as people make it out to be. Character creation can be a bitch if you don't have a solid character concept in mind, and there's a lot to keep track of during combat, but it's really just your standard crunch-heavy game. The reason it comes across as being REALLY complicated is because the translation from Spanish to French to English was not handled very well. I've set up a few google docs which have been really helpful in teaching people how to play so far, so I can break those back out. Let's see if we can get a few more people interested just so we have a bigger pool of people discussing it, and see who comes up with some good ideas. (In other words, *Is still holding out for someone else to offer to GM for like 48 hours*) :D

I actually love Anima as a system, but it does seem to be one that is hard to find a game for on Roll20. If you want another player i would love to come along

I would also be interested in a game of Anima, if you need additional people for your group i'm readily available on any day except for saturdays.

So, did this ever materialize?

There looks to be enough interested players at least, just missing a GM. It has been several days since the last response but im going to give it a week.

Definitely still looking, yes! If there's enough interest but still no GMs, I'll just take the mantle and hopefully inspire a few others... *Nuuudge*

Well, lets see, but I think you should probably start planning to GM now, unfortunately. I think I see an Anima thread on here maybe once every couple of months, if that.

Making a bump to check on the status of this, since it's been a while and no one else has shown up.

I've created a game at this point. Now it's just a matter of finishing the preparations. I'm setting it up so it's as easy as possible for a group of people that have never played it before. As long as nothing goes horribly wrong I'll send out some invites in the near future. In fact, at that point I may make a new thread here as an official LFP thing. Depending on the forum rules anyway. I'll check that first.

Great to Hear and Looking forward to it. Few Minor Questions so i can get ideas flowiong. Would you be setting the game in Gaia? ie BURN THE WITCH! for any supernatural. or would it be a Custom setting?

Yupyup! It would be set in Gaia. I love the standard setting in Anima.

I'm decently familiar with Anima system, but I've never been able to find anyone to play with I'd like to join in as well if you got spots available
