Temporary post: GM training game Friday June 17

As of now we have Eric L., Sean L. , and Blabtonic. Three will. Ale a small group, but sufficient to play. Let's plan on Friday 8:30 pm, June 17. The three of you can either copy a character template and fill out your own character, or use a pregen character. Pregens are perfectly fine and since we will be doing only a single session it might be easier to use one. That said, going through character burning is a great learning process.  Please confirm that you will make it by posting here, and include your desired class/stock. I am going to ask that we have three different classes for this one shot.
i will be there. i would like to play cleric.. and the 830 what time zone so I wont be late..I am good either way for char gen or pre gen
EST
I saw it in the next post after I sent that. I will be there with a beer and a subway cheese steak ready to play...
I'll be there. I would like to play a Dwarven Adventurer. But, if the party needs me to play something else, I'm happy to oblige.
I'll be there, I planning on using a Human Paladin
Blab there is not a pregen Paladin so please have the character ready to go by game time. Cleric and Dwarf are great options for the others.
Where are the pregens?
Should be under the Characters. Maybe labeled as premade. There are instructions regarding how to use them.

Sweet. I'm going to go ahead and try rolling one up on my own but the premade will serve as a good reference. And yes, they are labeled as "Premade" in the campaign journal in case anyone else is looking for them.
Sean you could also use a template for the adventurer. It has the basic stuff already so you just need to finish the details.
Sure! Will do.
Out of curiosity, have any of you read the Dread Crypt of Skogenby? I was thinking of running that dungeon.
I have not.
I'll use the pregen warrior then
Mistrlittlejeans, you mentioned there are instructions on how to use the pregens. I don't see those (keep in mind GM's can see things players can't). I also don't have the rights to create or duplicate a character sheet. I'm assuming you want folks to duplicate pregens rather than playing with them directly and making changes in game.
If you are using pregen I can make copies before we start. You don't need to change anything.

Was planning on making a character but I'll just use a pregen then.
Ok. If you want to make one I can make a copy of a template if you cannot do it as a player. I thought the templates were editable by players for this reason. Let me know.
Yes, please make a copy of a Dwarven Adventurer. Thanks sean
Ok, character sheets are up. Blabtonic you have a paladin template. Sean you have a dwarf template. Eric, you have the Human Cleric pregenerated character. If you want to make your own cleric you can just edit that sheet. Please have your characters completely  ready to go by 8:30 pm. Otherwise, I am going to ask that you use a pregen so we can get gaming. Remember, this is a one session game, so the earlier we start the more we can play. The only thing you guys do not need to have ready is a character goal. Those will be decided once I introduce the dungeon.
I am deciding between specializing in scout or Cartographer. I already have scout 2 so I was thinking about taking that as a specialty and making my instinct be "Whenever I enter a room I scout for traps" but cartographer seems like a fairly important skill so, if no one else has it\ takes it I will take that as my specialty.
Thanks for running the game last night I had a blast.. I want to run  game but i need to know where I can find the pic files for the grind and such
Two options. You could run a game through the same campaign. All the resources are already there, so you can copy and paste. If you do GM through that campaign you can change layers in the game page. I think the background images like Turn Counter and such are in the GM layer. You can make your own game page and then copy and paste. Simon and TED have invested a lot into resources for GMs.  Alternatively, if you want to create your own roll20 campaign you can generate images from the rukebook PDF. As far as I know the writers don't have a problem with it if it is solely for game purposes. You can also find icons for items (torches, candles, etc. ) online.
Don't think I'm in a position to GM currently so I'd be glad to have someone take up a second game for group.
Yup, I had a blast too. Thanks for GM'ing mistrlittlejeans! I don't think I'm ready to GM at this point but I hope to in the future. For now, I'd like to officially register my interest in joining a TorchBearer campaign. sean
Just remembered something. Fury of the Lords of Life and Death doesn't require memorization. You don't have to make a Theologian test to get it back. You can cast it infinite times assuming you run into infinite undead.
Is there a way to make a char and keep here some where so we can pull it into a game once you find one here
Make a duplicate of the class template. Then edit as needed.
ok great thanks
