Hi! I am looking for a group that would accept an absolute newbie. I saw a lot of critical role so I kinda know what it is played like and I would really love to try it, but I have no idea how to create a character. Is there some group where I could learn how to play? I kinda wanted to try it on my own but it all seems so intimidating. If not a group, do you have some tips on how to start? Btw I am from Europe so my timezone is GMT +2
Best way to create a character is to buy the Player's Handbook and get some copies of the character sheet. Doing it pen and paper helps you learn the sheet, or get a fillable PDF.
What system is it that you're wanting to learn?
well any D&D or pathfinder? I heard it's similar to D&D not sure if its not even the same thing xD
If you're looking for a system super easy to pick up I would recommend Dungeon World. I run a game and would be willing to teach you if you wanted. If not good luck finding a game it can be hard getting in to D&D groups.
I can help you with Pathfinder. Pathfinder is rebalanced and modified DnD 3.5. I occasionally run beginner games here on Roll20 if the time allows me. Also got a campaign coming up. But you probably want to have played a couple times in one-shots or other adventures till you commit yourself to a full campaign.
In terms of complexity I would recommend 5e.  Pathfinder has plenty of variety and Dungeon World lets you use your imagination more, but 5e is extremely simple and easy to learn.
