cant upload my own maps

Im having trouble uploading maps from my computer to the roll20 blank maps in game, the file size is on 668KB and the file isnt uploading. I get  as far as the loading bar with a very small bit of progress but it doesnt move from there and i have left it for hours before (left it up and went out) my internet speed is quite good as well being able to download things at a average speed of 5.6MB/S. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Tom, what file format are your maps in? Currently supported formats are .png .jpg and to some extend .gif The  wiki entry on  image best practice is a great place to make sure your graphics will work as intended.
The image is in .png

How are you adding it? Drag and drop onto the VTT or using the upload part of the image library?

For a map (that doesn't require transparency), a jpg might be a better idea. It should also be smaller.
i tried both dragging and dropping and uploading through the library, its still brings up the loading bar which doesnt move, when i go into my library roll20 has given me the file name but not the actual image, i dont know how to change it from a .png to a .jpg, how would i do that?

The easiest way is to use your photo program (gimp, photoshop, paint, or etc...) to open the image then export it to your desired format. Some people have posted bout not able to upload images they have on their harddrive until they exported them to the same format (overwriting the image) or to a different format. Something about how the original image was first created and exporting them fixed the problem.
