[5e Shaped] SpawnFxBetweenPoints help

I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this in  if not please move to the right place or let me know so i can post in the right place. I am Dming a D&D 5E campaign using the 5th edition shaped sheet and for Api's currently  the roll20 Api Script Library and  5e Shaped companion script. I am trying to get an npc's spells and breath weapons to generate fx's depending on the type eather at the target tokens location or from the npc's token location to the targets location. I have read the wiki pages several times but make no sence of how to use  spawnFxBetweenPoints(point1, point2, type, pageid) from what i understand this should work but does not spawnFxBetweenPoints( @{selected}, @{target}, breath-frost)  Can someone tell me how to get this to work?
I use several variations on this: Cone of Cold /fx breath-frost @{target|PC|token_id} @{target|Dragon|token_id} @{selected|token_name} a** Cone of Cold** 55' long and 11' wide doing [[11D4+11]] damage to all in range. /desc Save vs. Spell for 1/2
thanks for the  help so far in testing i got this to work as a macro but i am not getting it to happen when using it from a roll off a sheet  /fx breath-frost @{selected|token_id} @{target|token_id} i used the api script to generate token buttons for calling different actions for my npc like the breath weapon when i have the token selected so i do not have to have the sheet open. I  placed the above code into the emote section of the breath weapon as well as tried the freetext and freeform on the sheet but it does not work. i have tried referencing the macro i used to first test the code that does work into those feilds instead but it again fails to work.

Try putting that in the freeform field, after a line break . (line break here) /fx breath-frost @{selected|token_id} @{target|token_id}
that worked but it took 2 Line breaks but still worked thank you very much so i should then be able to use /fx explosion-fire @{target|token_id} in the same way  thank you very much
For spells, there is a Special Effects checkbox on the sheet.
yes but for things like breath weapons that are attacks not spells there is not
