Chat Discussion

So, it looks like there are still some complicated rolls that we can't replicate. Not a bad thing as the dice system is pretty complex and handles many, many things as it is. It would be nice, though, if I could run math operations inside the chat window. Here's an example where it would be helpful: So, in D&D Next, you sometimes roll 2d20, pick the highest, and then add your modifiers. I don't think I can do that as it currently stands (roll 2 dice and have it only take the highest number). I would /roll d20 /roll d20 Select the best number. Let's say the best number is 17. Then, if I could run this math in the chat window: /add 17 + 4 + 3 Where 4 and 3 are different modifiers. I could do this in my head and then announce it to the players, but I also think having a record of it in the chat log would be nice -- and there would be fewer mistakes.
/r 2d20k+1 There ya go! :) <a href="http://help.roll20.net/dice-rolling-reference/" rel="nofollow">http://help.roll20.net/dice-rolling-reference/</a>

To perform what you want you can do the following: /roll 2d20k1+4+3 Assuming the d20s came up with a 17 and a 5 the output would be: (17+5)+4+3 = 24 The 5 will be greyed out. - Gauss
Nice. There are so many great things in the dice system. I totally missed you could do that...been trying to figure that out for a little while. I still think the ability to run math calculation in chat would be helpful, though.
