[LFP][5e] Storm King's Thunder

Hey Players! I am a long time DM looking for some players for the new Storm King's Thunder module. I will run weekly (exact day/time tbd). Pacific time zone! Mostly I end up running games after work for 2-3hour chunks. There is also a chance that we will have some games that will run on weekends for longer time frames. I am semi-flexible depending on group consensus. The game will start mid Sept pending party readiness. I have space for 4 players. Any play level welcome. My one rule is that I will not argue rules during a game session. If there is a question about ruling ask me AFTER the session so that we do not interrupt the game flow. All players must be LGBTQ+ friendly/respectful. To apply please provide me with: - Your name/nickname - Table top experience - Basic character concept
If I the game starts after 7pm pst on Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday I'd be interested. I've been playing 5e for a little over 3 years (going back to dndnext). I would like to play a thief rogue or lore college bard, focusing on noncombat specialities. If I was a bard, I'd be interested in pairing with another pc to be their chronicler
Hey nice to meet you my names Oliver. I would be interested in joining you guys. I'm fairly new to D&D and have been playing for about a month, a few session here and there. I own a PHB and am quite familiar with the rules. I would like to play a Sorcerer or Warlock but the group need always goes first for me.  I'd like to play a Half-Elf. Chaotic Good if i'm playing a mage type and Lawful Neutral if I'm playing a Paladin, Fighter Etc. so thay can be more "heroic"
All players must be LGBTQ+ friendly/respectful. It's really great to see a post looking for players saying this as soon as I start looking for a game as this would be an important aspect to any game I would be part of :) Hi I'm Emily, I'm 32 and I'm available at evening PST times, while I am from the UK my GF is in California and it's possible for me to pretty much keep to her time schedule. I used to play TTRPG's multiple times a week >10 years ago but recently (around April) got back into running D&D 5E for a group of friends online, I haven't been a player in a long time though so I thought I'd start looking for a game and found this and am very interested to play again I don't really have a character concept, I think there's interesting stuff to all the PHB classes and races so I'm willing to play something that will fit in with what you and the rest of the party are looking for but I suppose if I had a preference it would be towards either Cleric or Paladin, possible with a backstory relating to the military but again I'd rather make sure I have a character that fits the group and your desires and ideas for the game.

I would love to play a character again, it's been a while, and I've always loved giants, sooo... I go by Matt, hi. I'm 32. I'm off week ends, and weekdays I'm home everyday (unless traffic is crazy) by 6 central, so 4 pacific.  Myself and another noobie started playing with some veterans after high school, about 10 years ago. Played through a few characters, only one higher than 10 though. Pretty soon I was DMing for that group, and I've barely played a character since, lol. I've DMed a lot of 3.5e and 5e, and some SWSE. With 5e, I got my wife into it. I'm really open to playing any type of character, but I usually gravitate to Elves or Dwarves, either a ranger/rogue type, or a cleric or hybrid (eldritch knight). I don't usually play those races typiclly haughty-like or stereotypically. When I was playing characters, I was usually a decent mediator, and often was the face of the group... not that I always want to be.

Hey guys, Thanks for all of the replies. So far I like what I am seeing - I think we will make a fine party. I'd like to leave this open for another day or so, just in case there are schedule conflicts and anyone needs to drop. Also a little about me, I am 33, and have been DMing on and off for about 20 years (those kids in Stranger things? Yeah, dat me). I have run AD&D 2e, 4e, and 5e. I have also run games using Werewolf the Apocalypse, Legend of the 5 Rings, and Dungeon Crawl Classic. I am currently playing in a Horde/Warmachine league, and am an avid video gamer (PS4, Battle.net, & Steam).
- Your name/nickname: G or Junior - Table top experience: Have not payed any tabloe top games. Have listened to a couple D&D podcasts, which is what got me interested.  - Basic character concept : I was thinking of going a ranger class with a specialization in archery. I am willing to play whatever character if someone else wants to play the ranger class. -Availability:  Monday after 5pm, Tuesday after 7pm, Thursday after 2pm, Friday before 10am or after 4pm. Saturday and Sundays would have to be after 5pm. All pst. Also if selected what would i need for this module?
Man! Too bad I'm going to be running this too. I'd really love to play it. Best of luck with your campaign Gravity. Peace --Mike
Hi I actually do go by KK as it is, just turned 32 and have had a couple of years of tabletop experience off and on here on Roll20.  Mostly D&D 5E but a smattering of other systems including Fate Core, Dragon Age, ASOIAF etc.  I've DM'd Lost Mine of Phandelver once and am currently doing my best to shepherd a group through it again, not the greatest but my small way of giving a bit back hopefully. For my basic character concept I'm learning towards your classic half-orc barbarian. A member of a tribe that lives off the wilderness and values strength but isn't just "GRR. SMASH. KILL. BLOOD." I mean when she rages of course but she defaults to violence as a solution only because it's her most effective weapon in the toolbox. I'm pacific as well and I have some restrictions on when I can play so I understand if it doesn't work out but I'd definetly like to be considered!
Any chance this game will be text based? I'd liek to use voice but I'm currently unable to and I'm just asking before I write anything.

Highly recommend, would play again.
If you guys are still looking for a player and are playing on Tuesdays or Thursdays I would love to join.  I generally go by Frogger online, I'm 27 and have been playing D&D for about 9 years and looking to find a new group.  I dont have a lot of experience with 5e but in another game I have one character that is a fighter/warlock that I'm excited to play.
If you need anyone else I'd be interested. I kinda have always shied away from Paladins in the past but 5e has some pretty cool options I've been eyeing. Thinking maybe a Tiefling Paladin might be a interesting character.
- Your name/nickname: Ant or Nab - Table top experience: I have been playing/DMing D&D for nearly 15 years. I have been DMing on roll20's dev servers since it came online. I have always been the DM and never had a chance to be a player.  - Basic character concept: An elderly half-ling monk who is wise and outspoken, he looks frail and worn but is hidden power house of unrelenting force.
Name:Joshua Timezone: CST Age: 32 Roll20 Experience: New here. D&D Experience: Ive been playing for a little over 2 years. Started with pathfinder. and got introduced to 5e. Played on 3 campaigns. I understand how people think and I play my character to that ability. Which is why I personally like the rogue the best. I have played as a fighter with the lowest int possible. (believe me, it was fun. the dm loved it.). and a fighter with high int, which i turned into an eldrich knight. Ive played as a rogue, which i have really enjoyed. I've also had a sorcerer who was going to be using wild magic. Didn't get the chance to. Because my party member killed me. I haven't played much the other classes. But am willing to give them a real try. _______________________________ Character info Name: Gromal Undertoe Race: Halfling Class: Rogue(Assassin)/Sorcerer (If multi-classing is available) Background: Once this man who was dressed in exquisite finery. Bumped me into a puddle of mud. Turned around looked at me, and shrugged the occasion off as if it were nothing. Followed him home to this very nice small mansion, nothing to fancy about it. Where I snuck in and searched for his most valuable possessions. I found this beautiful pendant. It was the most expensive item I had ever stolen. When I fenced it, the dealer told me he couldn't afford to buy it off me. Sent me to someone who could afford it. This is when I started to wonder exactly how this man had such a rarity. Didn't care just wondered heh. After I cashed it in for 1000 gold. I was ecstatic. Never have I had so much, never thought my wildest dreams would come true. I could afford everything I wanted. And still help my Ma and Pa at the orphanage. When I returned home to tell them the good news. They were holding each other and crying. They told me that its to late. We lost the orphanage. The banker's wouldn't let us have any more time to raise the 5000 gold needed to keep the orphanage. The only banker who ever helped and let us pay small amounts of money to keep it. Well he was dead... It was about 5 months later after being alone. That I found out about that man. He was responsible for holding the princess's fine jewelry pendant. The very pendant that was passed onto her by her dying mother. The banker was executed for conspiracy against the crown. By selling the pendant for his own pocket. I thought that man, must have been the lowest of the low. A few days after finding out about that lowlife. I ran into Ma and Pa who were in front of that small mansion. I asked why they were leaving flowers. They told me, this man was the man who helped them with the orphanage. And they know he wasn't the kind of man to go against the crown. They told me someone from the bank must had targeted him and stole it. So they could take our orphanage away. They told me everything he did for us, and all the other poor people. After a week of hating myself for finally realizing my actions. I swore to only steal from those unrighteous bastards who are a burden to other people. From those who have power and do not wield it properly. I have never looked at the crown the same again. I will never trust a bank either. I may have just been a thief and stole only what was needed to survive. But now I will spend the rest of my life atoning for my mistake. And will always help those in need. To think, I've been an adult for a while now. And I've only come to realize. I've done nothing to make this world a better place. This will all change.
Are there still openings? I've seen a lot of really good bio's and character concepts, don't know if what I have even adds up. Well here goes my best shot. NAME : Alex, or Kid(NN) TABLE TOP EXPERIENCE : I've played D&D 5e for a few months now, and I'm loving it. Only wish I got into this sooner, because since joining Roll20 I've met some cool people, who love role playing as much as I do or even more. I'm having a blast creating characters, bio's, stats, combat, role play, and being "in character" during the session is amazing. CHARACTER CONCEPT : A basic one I was thinking of is, a half orc named Brom. He was born into slavery, and his mother died trying to save them both. She told him to hide, he did, the Orcs beat her to death with broom sticks seeing it would be fitting for a slave. Since he was born a slave he wasn't educated, and he took the name Brom because he didn't quite know how to say Broom. He made a vow to never hide from evil ever again. As far as class goes, I was hoping for Barbarian. But with this brief backstory, I feel like I can turn him into just about any class needed for the group or at the DM's selection/advice. Honestly I'm happy playing anything, I've played very different characters and it's always been fun. Hope to be selected, but if not it's cool. As far as schedule I'm available whenever. I work (year round) as a dorm director at my local college, so I work from home (the apartment they college gives me)
Hi! I'm Tom, or Ti_Deltas I've been playing D&D 5e for about a year now, split between two sessions, with mostly the same group of people. As far as characters go, I would kinda like to play a bard again, but I am perfectly happy playing any character/role that's necessary. I don't have a particular character in mind at the moment, but only because I'd prefer to choose it based on the party mix so I can help make sure it's balanced. My schedule is wide open at the moment, so for the time being I shouldn't have any trouble making sessions. Lemme know if you think I'd be a good fit!
Hi Gravity D. Since the February this year I DM on regular basis for my friends and just started using roll20. love it so far. I'm looking to be on the other side of the DM screen as a character. Time zone works for me; however, anytime after 5 will work best during the week. Weekends would work too.  I think I would want to play dwarf cleric or a gnome druid. Hopefully you are interested in these two characters!
Hey Players - Just a heads up. I am closing this for applications. At this point there are far more applicants than I will be able to accommodate. I will send messages this weekend to ask some follow up questions. I will go down the line until the party fills up. Thanks everyone!

Sigh alright.

Hello. I'd be interested in this depending on what day and time you end up scheduling. I'm in CST. Your name/nickname: Kelly/NotRussellCrowe Table top experience: Been playing D&D 5e since release with my offline group, only recently started playing online. Experience as a player and DM. No Roll20 experience though Basic character concept: I'm partial to halflings, the Thunderfood cousins in particular. My first choice would be Moosehead, a barbarian. I wouldn't mind trying a sorcerer either if that would work better for the group.
I am extremely interested please pm me if you need to ask me anything
