Character sheet and monster sheet pool

Hi all, I am new to roll20 and I wanted to know if there is a way to create characters and monsters form some sort of pool of abilities and such. I saw that the character sheets you need to put in the information for all the feets, powers, utilities, etc. But in order to do that, my group would need the books to know what they have access to as they level up. I also was hoping for a monster pool just as on the D&D creator, where they have a wider veriaty of monsters to chose from. Is there anything like this on roll20? If not, is there a way to get my money back that I paid for the subscription? I just paid it today and was trying it out and I do not find this as good of a tool as I can get elsewhere. So I am hoping I can talk to the developers or whom ever the money goes to.

You don't say what version of D&D you are playing, but for 5th Edition (and for Pathfinder), there is the Compendium feature, which offers drag and drop capability for monsters, spells, weapons, etc. As a Pro member, you can use some API scripts that will allow you to import monsters from other sources if they are formatted properly. Would this be like the pool you are looking for?

Sorry I did not say the edition but we are playing 4e. I understand that I can import monsters and characters, but I do not really have access to any, I used to use the adventure tools from the d&d website but my subscription ended
