Rules wise, fairly similar to 3.5, although the classes are a bit underpowered compared to dnd. Casters are handled a tad differently, even though it uses spell slots for them. Lord wise, it is A vast world painted stroke by stroke in rich detail spread throughout 14 nice sized books that would put The Game of Thrones series to shame. Mostly written by the late author Robert Jordan, with the last 3 books written by Brandon Sanderson. This world boasts nightmarish monsters seeking to overrun humanity, an evil god that is more a primal force of nature, Politics and wars galore, a race of long lived giant like people called Ogier, elemental and gender based magic, telepathically talking wolves, dream-walkers, reality bending heroes, and more... all woven together into a Great Pattern by the Wheel of Time itself. their lengends and myths are rooted in our current history, and ours in theirs. Time literally is a Wheel, with the souls of the dead eventually being reincarnated when the Wheel turns from one age to the next. ...and that's without the stuff I added into it from dnd.
