RE: Dynamic Lighting

Crazy thought.  Dynamic Lighting is great, but some people want Dynamic Lighting that preserves past map areas.

So I am wondering if... An API or the Dev team would be able to have a toggle that makes Dynamic Lighting make the Token Layer transparent instead of blackening it.

Andrew, what would that look like or what would be the reason for making the token layer non-black? Wouldn't that just let everyone see monsters, chairs, tables, and fellow Characters, even if they're beyond a wall or around the corner?

Gold,

What I am saying is that the Map Layer becomes visible, but where there should be 'blackness' there instead would be 'transparency' on the Token Layer.

Since I know you have some familiarity with art programs, you basically make the "Dynamic Lighting Effect" into a "Dynamic Layer Mask Effect" that is applied to the Token Layer.

You can move a selection of objects from the Token Layer to the GM Info Layer (and vice versa) quite easily using Keyboard Shortcuts, no API required.

Otherwise, I recommend supporting the very popular Suggestion that Lucian posted, which is essentially exactly your proposal.
