Edit 2: We've found all of our players. Big thanks to everyone that applied. I've made a new thread for finding a DM. Edit: I've edited this post to show that we've decided to go with Princes of the Apocalypse. Some of the requirements have also changed. Applications are still open! Hello, We're a group of 3 friends looking for a few more players for a long-term 5e campaign heavily inspired by the playstyle of Critical Role. We'll be playing through Princes of the Apocalypse using Roll20 and Discord. The three of us started playing D&D at the beginning of this year after a grueling two weeks of constant interviews in an attempt to form our ideal roster of players. After a little over 10 months, the group we formed is still getting together every Saturday to slay some dragons and have a good time. We're hoping to score gold once more. There are two reasons we're out here looking for players again. The first one is that we simply love D&D and want to play more. It is very often the highlight of our weeks. The second reason is that our DM really misses being a player. Campaign Details Before I get into the details of who we're looking for and who we are, let me address the type of campaign we're looking for. While I did mentioned Critical Role's playstyle, it's important to clarify that we're neither expecting nor demanding voice actors or theater majors. The three of us are far from that. I was specifically referring to the flow of the game, the commitment to being fully immersed in the roleplay, the passion for the world and characters, the respect towards the dungeon master's time, and the pace of combat. Our ideal campaign has humble beginnings, as we work our way up the chain to incredibly deeds. The world might even see us as heroes at the end. This will be a complex process of self-discovery, character development, crushing failures, and satisfying successes. We want realism to play a huge part in our game as we fully immerse in the world around us. That means that conversations will be unpredictable, that plans will go south more often than not, and that death is very real threat. We're currently searching for a DM and 1 to 2 players. Here's a list of qualities we're looking for: DM & Player(s) Age: 18+ Language: English Programs: Roll20, Discord Equipment: Good quality microphone (push-to-talk or properly configured voice activation is a must) Experience: Extensive understanding of D&D 5e, whether it's from playing, watching, and/or reading. Schedule: 4 hours a week on a weekday from 6:30-10:30pm EST. The day is not yet set in stone, but it definitely won't be Friday, Saturday, or Sunday. Module: Princes of the Apocalypse from level 1 to 15. We'll figure out how to proceed when we get there. We could start fresh or continue on in a homebrew. Playstyle: It is imperative that you're able to get fully immersed in your character and the world. You must be able to speak as your character in first-person, not disrupt the flow of the game with out of character unrelated comments, share the spotlight, and be engaged throughout the sessions. This, combined with who you are as a person, is the most important things for us. Player(s) We're looking for a player that will respect the integrity of the game above all. We're all here to have fun, but for that to happen, our expectations need to align. Here's a list of no-nos: No "joke" characters. No evil characters. No getting angry or frustrated at the DM or fellow players. No cockiness or big ego. No showing up late or leaving early, barring emergencies. No "winging" it. Discovering the intricacies of your character as we go is fine, but we expect a well thought out character and backstory for the DM to use when we start. No, you can't be Arthas Menethil with Frostmourne at level 1 (read: "Tiers of Play", DMG pg. 37). Dungeon Master I want to preface this by stating that two of us have been DMs for over 8 months, so we understand the incredible amount of work that goes into this. You would be DMing for players that respect your world, time, and passion for the campaign. Here are some things we're looking for in a DM: Expertise in roll20. Dynamic lighting is a big deal for us. Willingness to make rulings on the fly and apply "the rule of cool". We are not looking for a DM vs Players campaign. High Quality maps for Princes of the Apocalypse from Mike Schley's website. This is something we can all pitch in for as a group, but they're absolutely mandatory. Ability to give unique voices to the monsters and NPCs. About Us Before wrapping this up, here's a little bit about us and what we bring to the table. We're three male players between the ages of 24 and 28. Two of us know each other in real life and have been playing games together for 3 years. The third we met 10 months ago when creating our first campaign. Our biggest hobby, alongside D&D, is video games. We play them daily, often times together. We all got started in D&D thanks to Critical Role, though I'm the only one that keeps up with it religiously nowadays. For us, there's nothing like D&D. The moments you share, the bonds you forge, the everlasting memories, and the incomparable amounts of fun. After reading all that, if you're still interested in joining forces for this epic adventure, please send me a private message here on Roll20. Tell me who you are, what you're looking for, and why you think we'd work well together. I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible. New players, DMs included, please feel free to apply. We value a lot of things over hands-on experience. Let's have some fun!
I sent you a PM, but to help out here is a bump :)

Got your PMs, thanks! I'll talk to the guys and get back to you asap. We're still taking applications for both the DM and player positions.
I've tried with groups on roll20 before and it hasn't worked out, but if you have a semi-established group already maybe this can work. I'll pm you later today when I get a chance.
Just replied and if you're interested in my character sheet, first time making it myself, so if anything looks off, please let me know!

It looks like we're most likely doing Princes of the Apocalypse, but are still open to being blown away by a homebrew. Still looking for players and a DM!
Sent you a PM yesterday, I'm still interested even if it isn't a homebrew.
I was wondering, for my cleric (yep, rolled it), which pantheon should I go with for me to choose from? I got choices from all of them but just asking.

Heather H. said: I was wondering, for my cleric (yep, rolled it), which pantheon should I go with for me to choose from? I got choices from all of them but just asking. That hasn't been decided yet. It'll probably be a conversation we have once we fill up the group, alongside many other topics.

As you've started a new thread for this game, I'll close this one for you.
