Hey Friends - looking to recreate something specific.

Evening all: Going to be running my very first Call of Cthulhu 7th ed campaign in the near future. As i was watching some youtube videos of the campaign i'm going to be running (pre-fab 'starter' campaign for rookie DMs), i came across this fellow. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o2NBsIRzHQ0 I was wondering if anyone can help me figure out a few things: -Which roll20 texture packs did he use to make this beautiful house (thus far i have purchased this one - https://marketplace.roll20.net/browse/set/640/metr... -During the run, as players approach doors and 'open' them, he reveals the fog of war - is this done simply with the fog of war mechanics on roll20? (i've pretty much figured out how to do this at this point) - I've begun making a bastardized version of his house, but thus far it doesn't look nearly as crisp. Any tips for creating lovely playable spaces for newbies? Thus far i've been fumbling around with putting things in the foreground vs background, and making them drawings - but the system as a whole feels a bit clunky to me. Perhaps i'm just doing something wrong? Any advice is good advice. Cheers.
*Cracks knuckles* Man you are my kind of person. I LOVE creating scenes like that one, too. It looks like he imported it but roll20's in app features provide enough for you to do it yourself too with some practice. You've got it right on your fog of war guess. Dynamic lighting does what fog of war can't, but you can still make it look really good regardless if you do it right. Check out this video series to learn more: https://youtu.be/eaNj94vFTZY
Beautiful, thanks for the quick response. I plan to begin honing my skills slowly, but surely (just don't call me Shirley). That being said, turns out the scenery in question, is actually a photoshopped prop made by somebody else. Pretty nifty if i do say so myself. I'm about to watch the video you linked, but i'll ask this question regardless: Is it possible to overlay a grid over an existing photo - so that my players have a better visual representation of movement capability with a pre-generated (Ie. not through roll20's toolset) map. I watched the video about grid snapping or whatever it's called, but i don't seem to have that option when i right click on my picture, and go to advanced settings as it suggests in the video. Cheers

Make sure your picture is on the Map layer and the Grid is turned on. You can't do it if the Page has the Grid turned off.
^^ exactly like Andrew said. You'll want to make sure you right click the Image and put it on the map layer, plus you'll want to ensure grids are turned on in the page options. Hope it goes well.
