[LFG] [D&D 5e] New player looking to join well-structured campaign

Hello everyone! I am a newer player to D&D and am really starting to get into the fantasy and RP and combat and etc. I have had a lot of trouble finding a well-structured game to join since my very first experience on here. Unfortunately, it ended in players meta-gaming and the DM immediately lost interest as it lost the fun aspect after that point. I am very open to trying new classes and picking the best class for the group.

We have a wendsday group that could use one more, the DM would have to interview you though.
https://app.roll20.net/lfg/listing/63595/adventure... Me and a friend are crafting a new player friendly continuos campaign set in a homebrew world. If it sounds like something you would like check it out. The Country of Ewhen is primarily occupied by the militant empire of Albium that has spread its reaches throughout the land, few bastions of foreign power remain sovereign, but the Emperor is a stubborn and determined man and will stop at nothing to lay claim to all lands possible. The people and resource's of Albium are stretched thin and in a determined effort to push his countries borders to the edges of the map massive infrastructure change has been ordered throughout the empire. Resources must be collected, soldiers must be trained, weaponry must be built. Even with its bountiful natural resources the Emperor came upon the idea to use the compounding problem of criminals and prisoners of war to as a source of labor. Jails, dungeons, and internment camps are emptied of occupants and sent across the continent in order to preform different job functions as chattels. One of the destinations for these unlucky chattels is the island of Depar, an island rich in minerals and silver. Folk on the mainland whisper of its unfortunate owner, and the curse of the isle, calling it the Isle of Despair. You are one of those lucky few, thrown into the hold of a cargo ship and sent off to work the mines of the isle. Who are you? what do you stand for? and can you survive? An open homebrew world where the Heroes drive the story. Events will unfold around you but the party determines the adventure and what type of game this will be. This game will be set in a Feudal medieval type of time period and will incorporate elements of magic. The game is set to be about 50-50 split between RP and combat.
