So... I am new, and hopefully I will be able to join and participate but I I am having problems. Due to medical issues and catch 22's, I am literally 0 income. And my only computer is done for, and if. I could fix it I couldn't use it for this anyway, as my only internet is on my phone.  I really would love to play here, meet new people, play games I've always wanted to but never could, that kind of thing. But... I can't effort even $5 a month, and thus I can't seem to join, create, or play any games. I was hoping someone could give a poor (financially) newb some advice. And if nothing can be done... Well then I'll know it for a fact instead of ditching this place without asking. PS: I understand the charge, this is a valuable service and the people that keep it running need their income. They deserve to make a profit so they can keep this place running. That'd not in question. I was merely looking for advice. PS2: Dear God that title typo... I wish i could fix that.

Subscribers, and players in games created by subscribers, get access to the VTT on mobile devices. A subscription is not required to create a game (but if you're only able to access the site on mobile, running  the game you created would be... difficult), nor to join a game. If the game you join was created by a subscriber, you'll have mobile access to that game's VTT. Depending on the particular game you play, the Roll20 app may be of use. It's not full VTT access (you get access to handouts, the journal, and the chat), but you don't need to be a subscriber to use it. If you game is more of a "Theater of the Mind" kind of system rather than a tactical game where you need to know the relative positions of all the PCs and monsters, the native app can be sufficient. That said, the native app is designed for use with tablets , not phones. Your app store most likely won't let you download the app to your phone, although you could try sideloading it. (Or, maybe you also have a tablet you didn't mention in your OP you could use.)

You can join games if the creator is a subscriber so that mobile support is active for their game. The iffy part is the phone. Phones are not officially supported but they can be used (depends on model). You might have to find a game that uses a third party software like skype or discord if you are seeking voice games. If you are looking for a text game there are groups around that are focused on that play style also.
Thank you! That helps. And I can get Skype again. ^~^
