Dynamic lighting default level

So I just became a paid member because this thing is so cool. Anyhow I have a question with the dynamic lighting. I don't see any way to set the default light level. For an outdoor battle at night, the whole map should be dim not black. Any ideas? Would adding a massive dim light source to the players be a good idea or is that going to cause performance problems.
By default, if there is no light source at all, there is no light. If you're doing an outdoor battle without any drawn walls or anything, you can put a token on the map layer and give it a large radius of light, with the dim light starting at 0. We'll call it the Moon. :P In this case, don't add it to every player. If you're doing a trek through a dungeon, then the players need their own light sources and then you start editing their tokens.
Ok thanks
