Copy-pasting shapes into Dynamic Lighting Layer

Hi all, I just recently starting playing around with dynamic lighting for my campaign. Unfortunately, I am using extremely large (skyscraper-like) floorplans for the campaign, and the map is always imported as a PDF. Tracing the walls into the dynamic lighting layer takes up a lot of time. My question: is there any way I can copy-paste specific shapes into the dynamic lighting layer from other programs, without bringing over the 'fill' from the other program? Ideally I would like dynamic lighting to pull the black lines from the PDF and set all of them to the dynamic lighting layer, but that sounds pretty insane and I'd settle for 'drawing something in MSpaint and copying it successfully into dynamic lighting'. Thanks!

Aaron wrote an API script for this, but there isn't a way to do it without the pro subscriber access to the API.

Inkscape (free software) has a pretty good  raster to vector trace algorithm , but I don't know how much effort it would take to convert  inkscape svg to roll20 path format.

That's what Aaron made the script I mentioned for. I keep meaning to try it out, but haven't had to make any new maps lately.

(Technically, I made it for importing the SVGs from GIMP. Not sure how it would work from Inkscape.)

The GIMP method I use is to create a solid colour layer, then delete the parts where players can go, select that space, Selection>Grow (5-10px) and then "Selection to Path", then on the Path Tab you export to SVG. You will need to tell it to put it as a .SVG but that's just typing it at the end of the file name. Note: This may be exactly what The Aaron's path for doing the work is as well.
