The short of it: Typing anything into chat, or even activating something that would appear in chat, causes the chat to freeze and ... compress? I think that's the best way I can describe it. This is what it looks like. This means the campaign is very nearly unplayable, as the only way to show results for actions is to reload the archived chat log each time someone activates something. The long of it: As the title says, I think the "[label](function)" macro (or function or something, whatever it's called) is the culprit, as that was the first thing I tried before this problem happened, and chat is frozen right before the labels show up in chat. The problem only arose after returning to the page after I started testing with "[label]," and those lines of chat are strangely omitted from the window upon reloading chat for any reason. No commands after and including the "[label]" commands appear in the main window - even after closing and reopening the browser - but all commands are visible in the archive log, as I said. > main problem: Chat is irreversibly kaput things I've tried to fix this, to no avail: closing Roll 20 and reopening it joining the game as a player logging in and out of Roll20 closing the browser entirely using [Clear Current Chat] from the campaign's settings tab (this clears the chat, but typing anything returns the "compressed" chat unchanged) I'd like to figure out how to properly code the macro I sought, but I do not have the understanding or the aptitude to describe it thoroughly. As it stands, the 3.5 module is so painfully raw and incomplete that either the players must code all their own macros to suit their abilities each time any little thing changes at all, the DM inherits this responsibilty for all players, monsters, traps, spells, and NPCs involved, or the players simply ignore the macros (and in turn the vast majority of the Roll20 3.5ed character sheets) and traditionally add values to bare dice roles. I truly would like to fix these issues, and I would wholeheartedly spend the time and effort to do this or assist in this effort if given the chance. This is a whole other can of worms that deserves its own massive post, and I have no idea how I would even start this effort.
